I have noticed over the last year or so that the member of the Melbourne Cheer Squad who religiously sported a windbreaker with a homemade homage to Ricky Jackson on it now no longer wears this extremely bizarre piece of apparel. My question is this - what has happened to the Ricky Jackson jumper?? Hopefully the guy has not binned the garment as it is a part of Melbourne FC's rich history!!

Does anyone know what this bloke may have done with the jumper?? And lord help us if one day he decides to do away with the beloved "Akubra/Dees do-rag" combination!! It was bad enough when the red seats at the G were removed, ridding the world of the seat with the classic - Earl "The Duke" Spalding - motif scrawled on the back...please somebody tell me...where is the Ricky Jackson jumper???

And more importantly, why dispose of the jumper now...it was proudly sported for more than a decade after Jackson's retirement - why put a stop to the glory now???

Is that the same guy who does the ludicrous left hand up, right hand up clapping? One of the biggest identities ever amongst people I know who don't follow us.

Agreed about it's demise. That jumper should be in the club hall of fame.

Funny story about him on Demonland/ology (can't remember which one).

You'll have to search through the forum though (can't remember who wrote it).

In actual fact, I can't remember much of the story except something about a wedding and Pizza Hut? But I do remember it was funny.

He is quite funny, however I do not recommend sitting directly behind him. You will be sitting there enjoying the game (hopefully), and suddenly out of nowhere it's M-E-L-B-O-U-R-N-E MELBOURNE clap clap MELBOURNE clap clap. And then he would just sit down like it never happened.

I usually sit in the southern stand (throw back to my old man and i going to Dees games together) but the last game before heading to London I sat in the Dees section on the members side. Sat just behind to the left of that gent and I have not enjoyed a game more. The Dees getting up and that guy left hand .. right hand... melbourne clap clap clap.. melbourne....

He and his mates love it!!!

He was also known to have sported a rude pair of ugg-style "ski boots" back in the day. I'm calling for "Ricky" to once again don the boots and the infamous backyard-job Jackson jumper & reclaim his place as Melbourne's most noticeable fan - his spot has been taken by the guy with the red & blue mohawk!! How often does that guy get his mug on the TV??

Quite often these days.

A couple of years ago at a Family Day, I took my little cousin and asked if the mohawk man if he could take a photo with him. I think the guy was shocked that we considered him "photo worthy", but he happily obliged.

Which side of the great cheer squad split is he on? Or is he running some sort of renegade individual third group?

No definately no third group - but closely linked with one side.

He was kicked out of the Melbourne Cheer Squad because the Cheer Squad President did not allow his children to sit in the first three rows with him.
