Eleanor Patterson out of the high jump qualifying at 192 cm. She didn't seem to be able to translate speed on the runway to lift. Each jump appeared a bit flat and forced. Disappointing for a girl who has cleared better heights as a junior. Swisse strikes again!?!

- Matt Glaetzer (track cyclist, silver medalist in world champs earlier this year) = 4th in Individual Sprint [not really a fail on the level of others though]
- Rachael Lynch (Hockeyroos goalie, world #3) = Lost in quarterfinals
- Rowie Webster (VC of the Stingers [women's water polo], were considered strong chance for gold) = Lost in quarterfinals
- Liz Cambage (Opals star, likely Silver medal) = Lost in quarterfinals

Kathryn Mitchell was 2nd after her throw but couldn't improve on it.

Cedric had a shocker in the Javelin but did a PB in the 1500m and broke 8,000 pts.


Big Damien Birkinhead was 5th after the 1st round


The US dominated day and night 13 or day 7 of the athletics. The yanks won 4 of 6 finals.
