Can't stand the athletics, primarily because Australia doesn't really stand a chance. I can marvel at the feats of the Olympians at sports that Australians are not competing in (gymnastics, track), but I can't get passionate about it. That's just me though.

Swimming is my favourite event every Olympics.

This. I'll watch the sprints in the athletics but that's about it.
I'm actually the opposite, don't mind some of the field events but the track stuff is what I find most boring. I must be the only person who doesn't give two hoots how fast Usain Bolt runs.

I like the high jump and I like the steeplechase, only care a bit about the track anyway. As for Bolt, I'll watch it but that's it

Geez she must have just clipped it, because watching live I honestly didn't notice a hit. Cost her silver again, just glad she held onto a medal. Will she be satisfied? Hard to say, but I somehow doubt it.
I noticed it and was surprised they didn't penalise her on the spot. Didn't know they had replays. It was the slightest of touches but there

There is too much swimming.

And athletics is more interesting because of the far wider diversity of nations competing.
No there isn't enough swimming. Should have the 50m sprints in each race and the 1500m women and the 800m mens. Luckily the last two are going to be added for the 2020 Games.

Athletics is fine, but there is the same countries dominating really. The US/Jamicans and the Kenyans in the longer distances.

Actually prefer the cycling/rowing the most as all countries have somewhat of a chance.

You serious?

I'd wager it would be easy to count on one hand the amount of gold medals won by an African, South American or Asian nation in cycling and rowing.

China has done pretty well in women cycling especially sprints, and Japan has had some success. South Africa have had some success, albeit a fairly newish cycling nation, and African nations do fairly well in rowing, SA and Zimbabwe have both made rowing finals.
