I wanted Novak to win gold. he deserves it over anyone. he still has doubles. might have time to do mixed now and do a "Murray" from London; who btw is out in the doubles.

probably not a post here, but there is no Major tournament in South America. Surely they should create one. been so many great south American champs in recent years. i know it is a full calendar but that was fantastic.

I am surprised they dont have a major tournament in South America, considering there's been a few good players from there over the years.
Also, the tennis stadium looks nice. That crowd added so much value to the match. I wish I was there.

Lendl might be the luckiest guy on planet earth, Murray brought him back cause he kept getting to finals and losing to Djokovic rehires Lendl now there's a chance he can win 3/3 tournaments since he's been back Queens, then Wimbledon and the Olympics without ever playing Djokovic, unbelivable.

yep, and his quotes afterwards as well. basically said that this one one of his toughest losses because it is the Olympics, it is different.
guaranteed tennis' place at the Olympics for many of years, if there was any doubt.
will also add that he showed it during the match. the look of relief when he held serve was something i dont think i have seen from Novak all that often.

Same, I can't remember the last time I've seen that emotion from Novak, this match meant a lot to him. Like i said before, unlucky to draw Del Potro in the 1st round. I think players like Milos are missing out on this experience.
I hope Novak can at least get a medal in the doubles

But I agree with you, Murray would've struggled to beat Novak at Wimbledon.
I will show any person who continually attacks tennis for being in the olympics this match.
Tennis has every right being in the olympics and it is clear how much it means to players.

After watching the del potro v Novak match and seeing the emotion from both players, I will never question why tennis is an Olympic sport.

Tennis is worthy to be in the Olympic Games and Djokovic and Del Potro's match and the emotion surrounding it just reaffirmed this.

I think it was questioned this year because a few players were pulling out from Rio, so we were wondering who will end up going. I was disappointed when Milos pulled out.

With Federer, he's gone for the rest of the year after an injury-interrupted season.
Others like Raonic and Berdych withdrew due to fears over the Zika Virus that has been an issue for Brazil this year. Withdrawals for this reason have been widespread for athletes in all sports involved in the Olympics.
