Has it come out how Bolton broke his wrist?

if he didnt do it decking some bloke then i dont understand where this "condoning violence" language has come from

If some idiots making disparaging remarks or groping a woman and you turn around and tell him thats not on, thats not violence, its literally dot point one of the victorian governments respect women campaign

"The term bystander describes a person who is present or witnesses an event or incident but is not actively involved in it. Sadly, we know gender-based violence occurs where we work, learn, socialise and rest. In the work-place, at schools/universities, in social settings and primarily, the home.

Bystander action refers to 'how' a bystander calls out, or engages others in responding to incidences of violence, sexism, harassment or discrimination. Importantly, there is no 'right way' to be an active bystander. Depending on the situation at hand, various forms of intervention can be deployed, and a bystander should consider their own comfort and safety above all else.

Some common bystander interventions include:

  • Vocally calling out inappropriate behaviour
  • Physically repositioning yourself closer to the victim as a show of support
  • Take note of the inappropriate behaviour witnessed and report the incident to the relevant authorities after the event"

Its not crazy to expect that if you tell someone that innapropriate language or groping is not on that they wont deck you in the face.

Lol Rioli’s a BOY how dare he step in and stand up for his girlfriend…isn’t that what she’s trying to say? :D

Isn’t she saying that Rioli didn’t have to use violence to defend his girl?

He never did!!! Wish I had Twitter to point it out

'We expect our players to make a stand': Dimma doubles down

Hardwick said Bolton and Rioli had addressed the club, with Richmond now ready to move on.

"We don't condone violence in any way, so don't get me wrong there, but what I will say is there are certain situations where we expect our players to make a stand," Hardwick said on Friday.

"When a young lady is being intimidated (or treated) inappropriately or whether she felt insecure, we expect our players to stand in.

"Daniel, as far as we're concerned, did the right thing.

"Do we want the violence to be part of that? Absolutely not.

"But the fact of the matter is, and I think Gill (McLachlan) is on the same page here, we just need players to make sure that people are treated respectfully."

Not much more to add on the situation, except praise once again for how Dimma always backs our blokes in.

Dimma’s lived in the real world, not hidden away in the bunker at AFL house and polo tournaments.

Let's be real here, Dimma is probably in no position to make grand statements about abandoning loved ones atm. Dude had an affair with a woman over a decade his wifes junior. He is defending the boys as he had to - I dont really see a need to punish these boys at all, but I take Dimmas words with a grain of salt

Imagine getting your claim to fame by dating 20 men at the same time on prime time tv. Then having the hide to comment on how a man protects his woman
She has a point & her opinion is relevant, despite whatever game show she was part of (have nfi who she is). I made this point earlier, most women I've ever met do not want her bf or husband to risk possible physical damage over a guy making crude remarks to her. Women cant solve problems with violence so they naturally see not point to thinking that way.

To be honest, most times a bloke "punches on" over a girl, it's not to honour the girl- it's to stroke his own ego. Most women I've met arent impressed with it.

Just because someone has a different opinion to you doesn't make them a troll, discuss the topic or you will be removed.

If you think someone is trolling or you don't like them put them on ignore, report and move on

Dimma isn't the CEO of the AFL.
No he's not , but Brendan Gale has been short listed for the next top dog spot, that's why he parroted Gils Comments.
Very Dissapointed in Benny, and how would you be being Gil's wife, knowing that if she was being accosted by an a-hole , her loving husband would do a bolt and leave.

I'm with Hardwick on this.
