There's a reason Cotchin went at 2.

Yep, Carlton desperately needed the ruckman, thats why he went 2, otherwise he probably would have went one.

Rioli, more of a crowd drawer but Cotchin will be easily the better player IMO.

Hawks fans acknowledge that rioli doesnt get as many touches, but what opposition fans fail to recognise is that rioli had maybe 1-2 disposals for the year which failed to hit a target. This is why we rate rioli? understand? it has nothing to do with quantity, it has everything to do with quality

Cotchin is an extremely good kick. Easily the best kick from the players drafted in 2007. He is equally good of both feet as well. If Cotchin had of played the whole year he would have won the rising star easily. Cotchin gets more of the footy and uses it better then Rioli. Having said that Rioli is a very good kick as well.

Cyril averaged 13.6 disposals per game and 4.7 of those were errors

For interests sake Cotchin averages 16.8 disposals and 4.4 errors a game.

But I don't really want this thread to head in a statistical argument, as they play different positions.

Pelchen would swap Rioli for Cotchin every day of the week.

Not really a fair comparison at the moment. Selwood has had two seasons the others one each. Having said that Selwood's first season was outstanding too.

my heart wanted to vote cotchin, but i think 2 years of selwood have proven he is better atm, but cotchin will have a better carreer at the end & shoul be better than selwood in the next year or so.

The scary thing about Selwood is that he is still only playing 65% of the game and still manages to stand out like he did in his first two years.

Selwood easy he has done alot for the club in the few yrs he has been there, Rioli is someone to look forward to in the future, like Selwood Rioli will do good for the club.

im not sure on Cotchin have to see more of him be4 i can say
