'Driving Home For Christmas' is my favourite Christmas song.

I didn't hear it for the first time until 7-8 years ago.

Lot of happy memories that I have experienced over the year that are triggered by the sound of his songs, you know when you associate a particular song with a specific event/occasion/milestone.

I have renovated and painted several homes of ours over the years and Chris Rea songs have been my go to, whenever the internal painting was done.

I lived on the Continent for a couple of years and 'Driving Home for Christmas" was always a MUST listen to as we drove through the European winter weather to our destinations.

My two siblings and their families were also working in Europe at the same time as we were stationed there, so the road travel between: London - Hamburg and Amsterdam are happy memories that come to mind, in particular whenever I hear Driving Home for Christmas.

Really enjoyed his songs and his guitar playing.

RIP you talented and entertaining troubadour, thanks for the music and the rich memories, that I have associated with your musical creativity.
