There will be plenty of tributes for him as the AFL commentator in the main board thread, but I think on the West Coast board he should also be remembered as a strong advocate for WA football, especially in a time when the VFL mentality was still very much accepted and West Coast were struggling to gain acceptance. In a way, he helped the pave the way for us, Freo and the true national competition we (almost) have today.

Sad news. Every story you heard about him was just him doing good things. By all reports a thoroughly decent man and gentleman.
A lot of people have tried to imitate him over time, but none have managed the effortless way he went about it.

The best in my mind and a good bloke. As an aside i saw him play one game for Waneroo (Under a false name) he got rough treatment but played in the best of spirits.
