I mean there's so many.. French Connection.. Poseidon Adventure.. The Conversation.. Mississippi Burning.. Birdcage.. Bat21.. Runaway Jury.. such a good actor. Very sad to read the details.

my mind first wanders to Robert Duvall who is similar age (94) and they were roommates in their early acting days

Such a great movie and one of Hackman’s best performances imo. Great actor, from French C to Unforgiven, Tennenbaums and a great little cameo in Young Frankenstein plus many more

He was one of the great actors. So many great films. The Royal Tenenbaums, Lex Luthor in the Superman movies, The Birdcage, The French Connection, Crimson Tide, and I could go on and on. It's hard to believe he didn't start acting until his thirties. RIP

A great, great actor. Despite his reportedly gentle nature, one of the most convincing 'tough guys' I've ever seen on film. Very sad, but so great that he lived into his 90's and the last 20 odd years out of the Hollywood bubble.

Yeah, it's one of THE great performances.

I love that he could’ve retired with The Royal Tenenbaums for a perfect finale to one of the all time great’s careers, but he powered on to make two more films so he could retire with Welcome to Mooseport, a Ray Romano comedy.

Every time I picture him in my mind stealthily walking out of The Birdcage in full drag, I smile.

He really was one of the great actors.

So many other great roles, too many to mention, he's up there with the great 70s era actors like De Niro, Pacino and Nicholson.
