As a former Norths supporter (pre eagles) Mick was a favorite of mine and i was shocked and saddened by his death.

You'll never be forgotton big fella.

It was a great shock I read in yesterday's paper that he wasn't well and some of his North and Qld mates were organising a function on his behalf, but it was a bigger shock today to hear of his sudden passing.

His was one football's true characters, loved by all supporters, not just North. He will be sadly missed.

Mick Nolan was one of the reasons I'm a North Melbourne supporter. Living in Canberra I didn't see too many of his games (the inferior 'Crackers" Keenan was Barassi's #1 choice), but whenever North was on TV and he was playing it was always fun watching the big guy give his all. A great player, a great clubman, a great Bloke. RIP Big Mick.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but Mick's funeral will be held on Monday at 11am at St Gerard Majella Church, Maundrell Tce, Chermside West.
