Was watching the Senna movie again the other day and couldn't help but take notice of how fond Ayrton Senna was of him. Then I actually did some research to find out more about him and found out that he'd saved the lives of many-a-driver including Hakkinen and Barrichello. Was also wondering whether he was still alive and whether or not he worked only to find out how old he was and how he was still a member of the motorsport safety institute. So I'm pretty shocked to hear the news that he passed away the next day. Seemed to have a massive standing in the F1 community.

Only watched the Senna movie for the first time a couple of nights ago so I now know who Sid Watkins is. A great many people owe their lives to him, a genuinely significant figure in motor racing history. RIP.
