The greatest Cricketer in the history of the game, the greatest sportsmen in Australian sporting history, and one of the nicest persons anyone will ever meet has passed on from pnemonia aged 92. This is truly a sad day for everyone

Terms such as "the Best", Champion, "Great of the Game" become hackneyed so easily in today's society, that we lose the true spirit of these terms.
To regain the true meaning one only need look at the career of Sir Donald Bradman, no-one else has had such a profound effect on their chosen sport & on the Australian psyche.

A true champion in a league of his own.
In my opinion, his batting average will never be beaten. I doubt we’ll ever have a more respected and well known Sportsperson as Sir Don.

ptw summed it up perfectly in the cricket forum & the same goes for Asgardian here.

RIP Sir Don

A great South Aussie and a great Australian, your memory will always live on at your second home, the beautiful Adelaide Oval.
