I loved the way that that generation of Americans learned about their own music through British ears. A sixteen year old in Gainesville in the mid 60s probably wouldn't have heard a lot of black American music until he heard a bunch of skinny white kids from England playing their music and talking about them like gods.

Mine so many of those early
Blues songs they played rebelling in their abandon
