Luenburger looks far more ready to play good footy than Hawkins...he's my favourite so $14 is great value...
Hawkins big advantage is that Ablett left...still go the Burger with my hard earned.:D

Hawkins for mine is way too short odds. Few young forwards dominate early on. Not saying he won't but there is a risk, especially at a low return rate. I'd rather take Berger at $14. Does anyone know if Gibbs is eligible? He probally isn't but just checking.

Rance isn't quick enough to play on a flank, he's a key position prospect that could pinch hit as a third tall.

Word is that the Tiges have a fair bit of faith in McGuane and Thursfield as key defenders with assistance from Polak and Bowden.

Rance could play a few games, but he's a long shot to be a regular.

maybe im over rating Rances chances :p but I dont have as much faith in Mcguane and Thursfield as Richmond do

It's impossible to judge with these things though, who would've expected Tyson Goldsack or Justin Westhoff to impress as much as they did last year?

If you've got a good feeling about him, don't let me hold you back.

As for McGuane and Thursfield, I don't really see the talent there either. They just don't look big enough for my liking. However, they're young and Richmond's likely to stick with them for the time being.

Goldsack and Westhoff were 20 year olds. If Gumby and Hansen can't get close as 18 year old KPPs neither will Rance.

Gibbs is waaay ineligble.

From Essendon I'd check Hocking's odds, and I'd look at Craig Bird and Leigh Adams. All slightly more mature players who can possibly have an immediate impact, and I suspect their odds are pretty favourable for all of them.

Dempsey would be tempting as well.

Mitch Clark at $26 and Dempsey at $34 is where I would head. There is useually a big difference between 3rd year players and 2nd year players. These two have the talent but have both been hampered with injuries. Worth the risk IMO.

Mitch Clarke if he can get on the ground is very good odds. He is just as talented as Patrick Ryder IMHO. Compared to the 2 key position players who got selected ahead of them (Kennedy and Dowler) seems a massive gap in talent

I'm chuckin 20 on Dempsey
He is still well worth that price. He will play any game if he is fit and I think he has another gear from what we saw on Saturday night.

Personally I have doubts over whether Hawkins or Leunberger will be able to perform well enough in their physically demanding positions. Hawkins is likely to struggle against top full backs and Tom Lonergan will challenge him for his spot. Leunberger is playing in the hardest position a kid can play in IMO.

If Dempsey is good value at 14 then Bachar has to be a fantastic buy at 34.

They will both play all year, Bachar will be given every opportunity to cement a spot in the middle... he's a ball magnet and has the most developed body I've ever seen on a 2nd year player.

Seems to me the rising star award is heavily stat based, and Bachar will have numbers similar to Pendlebury last year.

Melbourne's best chances are Petterd(2nd fave) and Buckley(paying a good price) Buckley was awesome on the weekend and will get noticed because he runs and carries the ball....
