I think that Shaw and Peace (and maybe Murphy) will actually poll more votes then Raines come season's end.
They have had better season's then Raines from my viewpoint, so how am I a tool for that comment ?

Not sure if Murph has done enough but pierce has been amazing. A bit inconsistent but nonetheless he has dominated.

While raines, pearce etc are very very good, murph was excellent and proceeded all expectations. got alot of the ball, used it very well (im sure everyone can say they have heard a commentator say that "Brendon Fevola is going to love playing with Marc Murphy") and was really a class above before he went down. Im not sure how they will vote but Murph is the best young player in the comp in the criteria.

You don't rate Bate highly enough. Although he's missed games hi impact when playing would rank him 3-5. Take the time to watch him play, he's very good.

I rate him in the top 5 as far as potential goes (i.e. who is most likely to become a great player) but he hasn't had a better year than these players. Bartram has been more important to you guys as a tagger.

Honestly do you think Heath Shaw 'impacts' a game. He mops up around the back without an opponent, sure he is clearly noticeable on the field, but yes i Bate actually impacts on the game. Shaw mearly is a cog in the system, even if he is a highly polished one. Even Polo impacts a game far greater then Shaw, shutting down key players often effecting results of games.

Does mopping up and giving drive off half back affect games?
He is an important cog to our side.
Shaw always plays on his oponent and his oponent rarely has an impact. He is fantastic overhead and one on one.

Oh but wait Raines played on Riccutio and beat him. Has that been metioned enough?

All im saying is that Shaw takes lesser players to Raines, and they both give drive. Id take Raines, as he is harder at the footy and is more responsible defensively. I know i probably rant on about shaw, but i think one of Murph Pearce and Raines should be the eventual winner as they are less experienced and better players.
 
Saw Pearce play at the dome agaists the Kangaroos a few weeks back (remember that blockbuster!)
He will be a future champ.... even future brownlow if i keeps up what he is doing. Very polished player already. Even has captain written on his forehead. Even if he dosn't get rising star I reckon he has a bright future.
PS: I don't barrack for Port Either ...was just impressed with his work ethic.

There is hardly anything between the two players. Raines I suppose plays on better players but Shaw also takes dangerous players but not necesarily always the best small forward. Shaw IMO is more damaging in terms of #s of possesions and his run and precise delivery. Shaw is very hard at it also, both in terms of bursting through packs and getting the hard ball off the deck.

I don't think inexperience and potential should be taken into consideration (well maybe a bit of potential) but it will be interesting to see how they judge it.
 
Pearce has come back in this one, somehow i doubt he will win the real thing though.

He isnt really being talked about in the same breath as Raines, Shaw, Murphy, Bartram and Thomas are.

Should be Matthew Bate

Has averaged 17 possies per game, and has contibuted greatly in Melbournes wins

His game on Queens Birthday in front of 70,000 was a classic


Much better player than Thomas, Shaw, Pearce, Murphy etc..
