Must be one of the most open markets of all time with the even draft with no standout ready made star leading the betting. The odds will be very generous for some.

Who are the players still eligible for the award in the AFL?

I think that's a bit hyperbolic. When I think of run away winners I'm thinking Selwood or Daicos type years. I don't think his performances have been that good. I think he's only marginally ahead of Connor O'Sullivan if at all.

Daicos wasn't a run away winner in his year. You could make a strong case SDK should've won it. For example he received coaches votes in 8 matches compared to Daicos' 5 despite playing full back.

It was from Daicos' second year that he went from good young player to superstar.

Congratulation to the saints Garcia who is the rising star nominee for this round

He confirms the AFL's policy that rising star nominees will only be nominated from a winning team, except if you play for Geelong, then you can be nominated even if you your team loses, as a reward for your solid season, but Geelong is the only club that gets that opportunity, because, well, because.

^^^^^^
Out of absolutely nowhere with a Geelong whinge. :handok:

The Geelong Grammarian Lalor is 4th in favouritism behind Ashcroft (Bris), O'Sullivan (Geelong) & Reid (Freo). No need to be so angry, give him time, he'll come good, just going through a quiet patch right now is all.

It would be a dream come true if he could be as good as Ollie Demspey as a 21 yr old, I mean averaging 17 possessions and being 3 yrs older than his competition, is right up there with Tom Stewart Corey Enright and Tom Hawkins AA jumper levels of accomplishments.

Levi in the clear lead for me

O’Sullivan 2nd

Raffle off Roberts, Reid, Trainor, Langford for the top 5.

Langford & Caddy could be the 2 to take a jump especially if midfield spots at Melbourne keep opening up.

For North I think Hardeman would be our best shot at a nomination & getting votes, his game on the weekend looked really good working both defensively & offensively.

Harvey Langford is in the discussion for the winner as well. Having a very good debut year.
My favourite kid from last year's draft.
Zero surprise he's doing so well early in his career.

Will be interesting who gets 2nd.

You'd think Levi runs away with it.

COS, Langford, Garcia, Lalor, Reid, Roberts etc all look good going for 2nd spot though.

Feels like that's focusing on stats rather than impact. He's yet to receive a coaches vote this year while Lalor, Garcia and O'Sullivan (twice) all have.

Levi is clearly in the running but I don't see why he's ahead of Lalor or O'Sullivan at the moment.
