One of the (few)interesting things about this Fridays Bombers/Freo game is the chance to see the two obvious rising star canditates on the field (maybe three with Pavlich).

I haven't seen too much of Haselby, has he held his early year form? Is the award still as cut and dried as it once was?

Ramanauskas has steadily improved and is a regular member of the top side, as well as being capable of the pretty spectacular. Witness his goal on the weekend. A pretty good contender I would have thought.

Pavlich is now holding down a key position as far as I can see, pretty darn good for your first year. Is he a chance at all?

Haselby probably still the favourite, he hasnt held his really good early season form but still has been a pretty decent and servicable midfielder. It certainly says something when your a rookie and your being tagged. Pavlich starting the year in the half forward line and played decent football but he has really found his role at CHB. Hes been fantastic in that role and reminds me of a young Jakovich. Another one of three rising stars for Freo is Brown hes a defender and really impressed me in the 3 or 4 games ive seen him in this year. Who are the other candidates there has to be one nominated from each round so i was wondering if anyone knew every player thats been nominated so far. Anyways its Haselby for my money.

2000 the year of the Eagle <----Hahaha we'll be back.

I know this is gonna look biased, and it is a bit but i am gonna try to be objective. Wouldn't a good player in a top side (like Ramanauskas) be more likely to win than a good player in an average side (like Hasleby)
Ramanaskaus is week after week playing great games of football and because you can only get nominated once, Who is to say that he hasn't topped the votes in more than one round unlike Hasleby who has to compete with players from his own side taking the limelight away from him. I understand that its a different system from the brownlow but really there must be some rating/voting system or else you end up with 22 players all on 1 vote each

Good point dons r tops i have no idea how its rated. Ramahoweveryouspellit is made to look good by the players around him thats why i dont think he'll win it. Besides i think the dockers have been pretty good this year so Haselby should still win it.
