Another thread has it that Carey is currently on cortizone (which may or may not be true)

Apparrently there's a lot of debate and possible litigation over the use of cortizone in england to enable players to play with injuries. Apparently they take a lot more care now but in view of the higher rate of injuries, do you think this will become a big issue in AFL ?

What are the long term risks to footy players ? We all know that Dermie's style of play forced him to retire early. What other examples are there ?
 
Long term use of cortizone can have some fairly nasty effects as you get older. Whether players would have legal recourse or not is another matter, after all I'd imagine they're consenting to the treatment
