in all honesty, where would you play Smith?

Dunn is going nicely at CHF (barring last week) and Neitz has a bit of form at FF and ofcourse there is always Robbo, Yze and then a rotation of Green, Bruce, Jamar and possibly Bate.

I wouldn't like to see Smith thrown down back on Riewoldt, even if it allows us to have Rivers floating.

I guess if we put him forward then that means there is 1 more tall forward that the saints have to match up in, minimizing the chance of Maquire going forward.

While we all know Maquire is a dud forward and has had a dud year all round, he has a supurb kick and could have a field day on Bell or Chris Johnson or whoever his undersized opponent is.

Sam Fisher won't go forward. They have to match up Neita, Robbo and Dunn without even worrying about Smith.
I'd like to see him get a go, but not sure about how he'd go down back. There isn't really room for he, Dunn and Jamar in the same side.
Although I don't mind it when we have a tall forwardline, as Flash's pace and crumbing ability is fantastic and hopefully ND plays him inside 50 the whole game so he will trouble Baker. Plus then there's Choppy, Green, Yze and co. who all play the small forward role really well.

next to no chance for 426 unfortunately. I think its almost 3 years since his last game, wasn't it in 2003? someone said 2 i reckon its 3, anyway..... they may consider playing him as the backup ruckman ahead of Jamar, thats where he has been playing for Sandy, thats the only way he'll get picked i reckon.

We may as well play Rivers on Riewoldt, our best backman vs. their best forward, im confident that Chopper will go alright on the G-string, we should win this game, the melbourne of old would lose, hopefully we have matured a bit, and hopefully Bate comes in for Godfrey, also Sylvia on a backflank for Sandy and Fergs at FB, thought he would come in but obviously not.

Pretty happy with that, Dutchy was a reasonable choice as I would say the Saints will play a ruckman up forward, probably Ackland for most of the match and Dutchy can go to him.
At least Godfrey is out.

Bate in for Godfrey, at last Godders is gone. And i hope that is the last we see of Simon Godfrey in the red and blue.

Buckets in for Miller is fine as Buckets is a much safer and better option then Smith.

Well he made it onto the emergency list, so he's getting closer...

I'd say that if Dutchy has an absolute shocker this week, or if heaven forbid we lose another tall to injury or suspension, 426 is in.

Maybe we should just play him against Essendon regardless. They're so rubbish atm, Smith could just about tear them up singlehandedly.
