6 martin, 8 for Durham, 10 for Caldwell, 7 McGrath.
Yeh McGrath horrible come out of the back half
Caldwell and Durhams a lot come from the grunt work they do (and you sort of excuse them a bit from the amount of tough stuff they do). The issue is parish is turning the ball over from positions you shouldn’t be turning the ball over, you got to make the most of it when you’re out from stoppage. If parish is only going to bring possessions / and clearances then we actually want to be getting value from it

I'd also just add the difference in reaction when say a Durham makes a blue in tight, his follow up, compared to parish (and others he's not alone).

Then again weigh that alongside absolute impact with the ball of someone like Caldwell who makes something happen with a disposal compared to the type of impact Darcy has with the ball.

If you are a fan of his that's cool, but I was critical of others too, it seems odd to react solely to what I said about him

So much less

Use Less
Gut Less
Heart Less
Spine Less

As per usual we are ****ing hope less.

Not even going to give them credit for fighting back. Show up to play from the first bounce or **** off.
Carlton fan alias I'm assuming.

What's up with the hot potato handballs in dangerous positions particularly in defence? Is it Scott's directive? I'm assuming it's to prevent damaging turnovers by foot but it's not helping.

We should ban handballs unless players are in space. Enough of these 2m handballs to under-pressure players in defence.
Yeah, really stood out. Martin handballed to outnumbered contests at will in the first quarter. We are not good enough to get out into space.

Suspect the directive was to move the ball forward but not in the air where we lack talls.

i don’t mind this tactic of giving the opposition a massive lead in the first quarter and then trying to peg it back - it does make it more enjoyable to watch and then we can take the moral victory when we outscore them and get some happy feels whilst protecting our draft pick in a rebuilding year

Outside of a lucky goal he was pretty poor. Way too selfish. In what world was he better?
Agree, Gresham was selfish more than once. I'm not sure if he's just wired to try and snag the goal or what it is. His tumbler was some compensation but there were at least two moments I saw where he could have found a team mate and instead minced the opportunity.

It is genius if it is so.
I suspect it isn't.

Lav did his job under trying circumstances [ hard playing against 'Mr Untouchable'.]
My man Goldy struggled, fumbled badly.
Hobbs is like an uneducated virgin, he can get it, just doesn't know what to do when he gets there.
Louie, Clarke and Johnson are good finds.
Kako getting better each game.
2mp is back.

Make no mistake Voss was coaching for his career last night and barely limped over the line. Couple balls bounce the other way and it would be a VERY different story today. Blues get their sugar hit percentage boosters playing cellar dwellers over the next fortnight but will ultimately fail against actual afl teams.

All in all I don’t think it’s the worst result draft wise, but like BS says we aren’t happy with almost, moral victory when the game is there to be won. And I think the players know that, you can’t fault the effort and desire (love Durham Calders and Duurs’ intent) and the <5 games kids are making an impact (ZJ, Clarke, Lual and Day Wicks) but we just don’t have the polish (yet) to finish a game like that (and the Lions game) off. Those saying Merrett needs to be in the mids, we brought Parish in (one dimensional) and Setterfield had a job on Cripps, there is no room in there if we want Caldwell and Durham in their best positions.

Onto next week where I hope to see another key fwd brought in to help Caddy when Pete is rucking. Is it time for May in June??

Maybe the crowd should rock up at Qtr time too...

Also hawks 6 goals to 1
Eagles 5 goals to 1
Pies 3 goals to 1
Yeah, it is definitely a problem.

Can't be fitness, must be above the ears.

We seem to always give away a howler of a free or 50m penalty then panic and it all goes pear shaped giving the opposition easy goals.

Last night we handballed way too much and got into trouble. OK we were small but need to be able to play tempo footy and pinpoint players to stem the tide.
