We have so many players out that the remaining snr group don’t step up all that much and that is a disappointing thing. It’s terrible optics for the young players coming through. Second half snr group season fade out on top of injured players. We also have some players with an embarrassing skill set.

However,
Archer
Caddy
Kako
Roberts
Johnson
Vigo
Reid
Blakiston

These young players impress me so far and make up a good portion of the future list.

Parish game really that horrendous?
He was ok.
It's just disappointing that many of our mature players pack it in.
We still have a strong midfield yet they were bossed around the ball. Martin has made some awful passes. McGraths awful taking players on.

Maybe when our players come back from injury we'll player better, but likely not this year.

Cant expect to be playing well with the amount of injuries we have

Voss looks huge. Was never that fit when he was with us.

Should have had more opportunities.

Hope we start giving Tsatas some games.

I may get flamed for this, but I'm honestly not that fond of Voss in our side. I'm happy he is doing well at Fremantle, but I'm happy to pass on that. Plays with a lot of enthusiasm, but is a limited player.

D'Ambrosio however still pisses me off because his skills are exactly what we need.

Yeah, I see your point, He does look much fitter though.

Either just progression or we still lack an AFL standard fitness/strength program.

Clear as day we just can't have Setters, Hobbs and Parish in the same mid rotations. They are too slow and last few weeks opposition just waltz it out of there.

Yeah Setters has good pressure but still gets run off easily at times. Even Merrett and Caldwell lack the pure speed to go with the best. Hobbs and Parish get left behind every contest if they don't get the ball.

Richards, Holmes, Smith, Serong, Clark etc. treat our midfield like witches hats.

Need for midfield speed/grunt has never been greater IMO.

We have the draft capital, need at least 1 gun.

Did he?
Parish - 31 Disposals, 15 contested possessions. 3 Turnovers.

The rule of Parish is there’s nothing he can do to please the fans apart from leaving. He was far from our worst.

Has Merrett checked out?

Wondering now if he’s injured or carrying something. Does feel like a guy who’d check out, but he’s definitely not running as hard as normal.

It’s an issue to work out long term. Setters probably has to stay to balance out the midfield. Hobbs for mine won’t make it as a long-term, full time midfielder but I’m not opposed to giving him more opportunities in a season like this to be fully sure, which leaves Parish as the odd man out.

Archer May was a real standout to me at the game. A few times he legit made 100m long lung busting leads. One of the marks he took on the wing he just ran his man into the ground to get to the ball. He reminds me very much like Jake Waterman. Thats a best 22 player for sure

Wtf? Was third rate and against a VFL backline at that. Prior outmarked him twice. May outscored him. His celebration in the last quarter like he won the GF was actually cringe af. We got things to work on but this isn't the hill to die on mate. Lmao.
You’ve misunderstood me.

Voss the player is neither here nor there. I always liked him and disagreed with delisting him but understand he’s no world beater. I do think he can play a role at AFL level.

Point is he’s brave, tough, strong and competitive. But the regime he played under chose to put games into Sam Weideman….

Thank God we now have some appreciation for the sort of traits he possesses.
