Yep, good plan. Take a bloke who busts his guts out, runs himself ragged and finally is making a spot his own and tell him to do stints rucking as well.

Darcy would have pancaked jsos if he had of fell on him last week.

We need Levi to contribute more. But we also need him as it currently stands.

Fun fact - Levi has kicked the 44th highest amount of goals of any player in the history of the carlton football club ever.

No, we do not need him. At all.

Selection committee think otherwise then.

Just as an aside how did it work out for Port tonight not playing Ladhams and using Alir Alir as 2nd ruck. Pretty made their best marking rebounding defender ineffective. But at least they didn't have two lumbering ruckmen playing though.

Yes the selection committee do think otherwise. And have thought otherwise about plenty of players and the positions they should, could and do play.

Can’t say our selection committee is one that instills too much faith.

But yes Casboult is playing. Hopefully we are in a position next year to never have to utter his name at selection again. Wouldn’t be on any other teams list for the last 5 years bar one or two others.

2015 - Carlton trade Lachie Henderson to Geelong for Geelong's 2016 1st round pick. We trade Geelong's 2016 1st rounder, #38, #77, #95 to GWS for Plowman, Phillips, Lamb, Sumner and #8. After academy picks, #8 becomes #10 and we select Harry McKay. So effectively, we turned Lachie Henderson into Harry McKay.

Almost 6 years later, Harry is leading the Coleman medal with 7 games to go, and Henderson is having a bit of a resurgence after being delisted and then rookied by Geelong. There is every chance that Henderson will be playing on McKay at various stages during the night. How the wheel turns.

There is also a chance that former Blue Zach Tuohy could match up on former Cat Lachie Fogarty at some stage.

Bit much. Casboult has had some decent seasons in the last 5 years.

Our backline looks really good at the moment. Matched up against them obviously Hawkins and Rohan the keys. Weiters is a good match up for Hawkins and they have had some good battles.

Objectively you’d call that a draw. Rohan is a bit of a match up problem for us. They should go with Jones but he will need to have a concentration game.

Danger is playing predominantly mid and has only kicked 2 in 6 games.

Outside that they have no ‘two goals a game’ smalls of material concern.

If we structure well our backline should keep us in the game.

Only this year he has been poor to average, perfectly fine utility to have on the list the last few years, never going to be a star, plenty of good foot-soldiers on many lists.

Not to mention a lot of the criticism of his game this year, would be from repeatedly playing him injured.

Saved our bacon more than a few times going back + being in the ruck and that handy tall forward.

2017 - 34
2018 - 12
2019 - 15
2020 - 16

Think you might need to go Specsavers if you think Levi wouldn't have been on more than one to two teams lists the past 5 years, he did kick 34 in 2017.

Well... Didn't he try free agency and have 0 interest from any club?

Levi is not having a good season, however i think he is crucial against the Cats. their game relies on aerial dominance up back and then rebound attacking. If he doesn't get in Harry's way and is instructed to compete and bring the ball to ground whilst forward we will structure up well. The added bonus of having him as a back up ruck man also is important.

Also an option (although coaching panel wont even consider it) is to switch him onto Hawkins if he starts dominating.

That doesn't mean he wouldn't have had any interest for the past 5 years though.

Levi is too slow for Hawkins,he'd kill Levi on the lead.
