Interesting a number of bad calls were made against an NRL club on the weekend.
The NRL have dropped all refs involved. AFL sticks their head in the sand.

Not sure the NRL is struggling for umpires as there isn't a ridiculous physical demand placed on them.

You insinuate that the AFL is gutless for not dropping umpires like the NRL for making howlers.

The obvious reason the AFL don't publicly bury their umps over errors is due to the shortage of them coming through. The shortage compared to other codes is the physical demands we place on our umpires as a large reason behind this shortage.

The goal goal umpire that made the howler against us most likely won't be operating at AFL this weekend but the AFL aren't going to make a press release about it, not because there is a huge shortage of goal umpires compared to field umps but because it just isn't necessary.

A mistake was made. Move on.

Just watching the third quarter again. How's Brown busting thru the pack getting the ball at ground level and snapping a goal. Whoever on here said he's completely useless below his knees is actually completely useless at assessing his abilities. No doubt the same knockers who were into Mckernan last year I'm guessing.

Just about the worst defensive game for the year - Yes, you can be off against the GC but it's usually a ten goal game.

It's frustrating seeing other teams belt GC by 10 goals but we can't.

The first half was bloody shocking couldnt believe how easily GC were able to move the ball and score.

If we brought the 3rd qrt in the first the game would have been over in 10 mins

yeah, they were clean took a lot of great marks and picked their way through press and had a good forward setup. What’s more, we played to similar level as we players last few weeks - it’s not like we got complacent and lazy.
