Said it before the game either McG would have to go back or Westhoff if our forwards got on top they are winning the chess match. Getting killed in clearances need to send Ed in and give Gibbo a run as well. Just lost all structure when Charlie went down after such a good start.

We are still in this. Port applied the blow torch to our number possession game …. clearances fell right off at both the stoppages and the centre bounces. Lets see how Bolts reacts.

A few Ponies down now, Smurph not 100% …. CC on ice ….. Brackets will need to use his other hand for relief …..

Not over yet … not by a long shot.

If we come back hard in the third, need at least the first 2 goals to cause some disruption after Port gave everything in that quarter.

Gartlett needs to lift
Ed has done **** all
Daisy needs to be the cool head
Dow is he playing today?

1 good quarter, 1 bad quarter. Polson miss was crucial, but I think he took off before the ump decided to give Carlton a free in front of goal.
Umpiring so bad as to warrant a formal complaint to the AFL.
I'm so tired and frustrated at the bias evident in the umpiring. Port kid had his eyes on Murphy and took him out.No free. Reportable imo. Daisy spoils Port player in front of goal. Free kick. Phillips and McKay getting scragged and blocked off the ball almost every time. No Free.
I usually like to think its just my carlton bias seeing things this way, but today it is evident that consciously or not, the crowd is affecting the umps.

Arresting red time goals?

Good coaching.
You're kidding? We went into f50 3 times without a contest. OUR DEFENCE IS NOT THE PROBLEM.

Its our midfield and lack of winning contests from the center square onwards.

Deplorable coaching move. Didnt save anything and cost 3 viable entries.

Its hard to accept we are well coached when rudimentary errors and entire qtr shutdowns occur each week. Call me old school but keeping the team switched on and in the moment is half of the essence of coaching
How is this a coaching error? The players are out there and he can't get a runner out to them. STUPID RULE!!

1st quarter young player totally transforms our foward line. Creates the pressure and crumbing that we have been crying out for. Sets up two goals and hopefully is starting to realise what he could be.

Next 1/4 makes an error which was more due to a slow whistle and apparently he is a disgrace and should never be picked again.

Seriously just really annoys me why don’t you perhaps cut a young player a bit of slack and enjoy the ride. I am really don’t get it.

We dominated that first quarter to the extent that we should’ve been 4 to 5 goals ahead. Being only a goal up didn’t deflate the port players at all. Umpiring has been woeful but we have ourselves to blame for the margin

It’s almost like we stop. We get so worried about getting scored against we just setup a zone and forget about attacking.
True - just an inherent lack of confidence being exposed, I suppose? Our confidence seems to teeter on the edge, stretched thin at all times, and it doesn't take much to pop it.

This stretches to the coaches as well, I fear, as the damage control move of McGovern to behind the ball that quarter really robbed us of any offensive edge, and really encourages the defensive mindset. I know that's a delicate balancing act, and we would've feared a blow-out, but I'm not sure of the message this sends.

Keep smoking the pipe fan boy. Another goaless quarter....go and count how many we have had over the last few years. Rocky 24 touches...at half time...after 40 last week...Yep great coaching...tool
No the coach. The players are not capable of stopping run ons. No leadership out there. Only Simpson and Cripps.

Ed Curnow has one thing he can do well, run

If he is not being played as a defensive midfielder he is a waste of time. Put him on Rockliff and get someone other than Cripps in the midfield who knows what the hell they are doing
Down on rotations it’s one thing we need right. Now

Get him in the middle

Wouldn’t mind seeing Cripps start as CHF and throw Setters into the middle
