Disagree with the comments against Headland. Thought he had a reasonable game. Part of his problem is that he is expected to win matches for us, and when he is "servicable" he cops it. Ditto farmer. I wouldn't be dropping Headland. Bit unfair re Black who has had an interupted pre-season. He is one of our more consistant contributors.

I agree. Des did lay 4 tackles (equal 2nd amount with Hase) , tried to break lines and be direct.

Heathblack needs to find fitness and form at Sowfs and with Peaker, Grover & Cookie most likely to come in that will probably happen .

Polak has apparently had some "general soreness" during the pre-season (read "personal issues"...) along with a bit of a wonky knee that he had last year also. He has played the last 2 weeks in attack for his WAFL club. Both weeks they have copped absolute canings, with the ball spending little or no time down his end much at all.

Don't know what the exact story is with him, but I can't see him coming back too soon, and if he does, can't see it being as a defender. If the Sharks would (were instructed to do so by Freo) play him for a game or two down back, then it might a) restrict the scoring against them, b) give him some quality game time, b) give Freo what they are currently lacking and that's an experienced KP defender.

I agree with your comments about Dessie, I thought he had an OK game and shouldn't be dropped. There's also no point changing the lineup based on that damn ground in Tassie, we need players that play well at Subi this week and I think we need to keep Headland, Black and certainly Walker for their pace and for Black & Des's long kicking ability. Pace is also the reason that we should bring back Peake!

Dropping Macca would also send the wrong message to the rest of the players, he was easily top five in the game vs the Hawks and I think it's great that we're picking a team with each player's current form a consideration.

I'd love to see Roger back, and agree with a comment above that he'd do well on Betts!

Anyone else keen to see Grover match up on Fevola? Gonna be some sparks there and I think Grover will mash him into the dirt! :)

how far off is robert haddrill???

I wouldn't expect anything from him for weeks yet and wouldn't be surprised if it's longer.

Cook (should never be out of the side) and Grover will add some much needed BALLS to the side.

You are correct, but Cook aint one of the "pretty boys" who are given an eternity to produce some good form.

Cook and Macca are from the same basket, Macca has produced and we know Cookie will do the same.

Its here that i see the problem with the massive leadership group. They are really undroppable because of there standing in the club. I'm talking bout guys like Walker and M.Carr more specifically.

walker usually plays defence so its bit harsh on him when hes only played two pre season games out of there.i think he was on bateman who did nothing.would like to mcpharlin back at chb for his run off, johnson looks a good enough mark to try up forward with pav.in-Grover,peake and hayden cook.out-gilmore,j carr, murphy Macca.macca and carrs disposals are shocking .cook in for j carr both poor kicks but need cook in the center for bouncedowns etc. I feel better already:D

Bateman got 19 touches and a goal, so in terms of tagging Walker didn't exactly keep him that quiet.

I am keen to leave McPharlin where he is - he needs the experience playing as a forward to become more consistent in that position and for the midfielders to get used to kicking to him (When they can actually get the ball).

Love him or hate him, if you drop Macca you are sending the wrong message to the player group.

The Carr clan needs a massive jolt of lightning, they seem to be cruising carrs, rather than crashing carrs.

dam, knew i should of checked his stats first, just in case. For a team that has depth we dont seem to have many other options in midfield,if only we had 17 midfielders like the egirls.I agree macca was having a go and it would be harsh to drop him.

In the Age today, Connolly is predicting as many as "4" changes...which surprises me, even considering how poor we were last week...

At a guess...

In: Grover, Peake, Drum, Cook
Out: Dodd, Walker, Murphy, Gilmore

Very interesting to see who CC will drop if he is going to let 4 go. Some of the lower performers on Sunday were Black, both Carrs, Walker and possibly/unfairly Parks. I just can’t see how CC could drop any of those guys, except Walker, and not be concerned about keeping a strong side.

IMO the outs will probably be : Walker, Dodd (inj), Crowley, Gilmore
I think Crowley might get targeted because he didn’t bring the physicality that we need from him.

If it were me selecting the outs would be: Walker, Gilmore, J Carr, Dodd.
Josh instead of Matt because we will require Matts pace at Subi, ditto for Black.

I think the “ins” are fairly obvious.
