Much better outcome than most of had expected. Can't fault the effort. Roberts runs himself into trouble quite a lot but I like that he is always trying to get the ball moving. With better players round creating the outside option would be a lot fewer turnovers. Let's hope wr can draft some players able to hit targets by foot when at pace.
Noticed this tonight as well. He has a habit of stopping in traffic and stepping to the inside and finding limited options.

Can't fault the effort of most.

McMahon is a find. A full pre season and he and Caddy and May should thrive together.

Archie's had a great year.

Zach and Duz tried hard.

McGrath had 2 good weeks in a row but a pretty MEH year overall.

Finally, building from a base competitiveness. We are going to be alright. It’s really nice to see them crack in. You can see the attitude is really growth minded. These types of games would see many dummies being spit in recent past.

It’s time to take a bit more risk with the ball, really emphasise hitting shorter targets inside 50, as it’s going to hinder development constantly safe playing it to the hot spot.

Thought some of the maligned players had a crack tonight, Lav, Shiel, Gresham, playing some of their best games of the last few years. Gonna need that leadership again next year while we ride this out.

Roberts, Johnson and Nguyen all being potentially long-term contributors to our back 7 is exciting. They compete, have a bit of grunt, don't like losing and Johnson especially is good by foot. If Reid and Ridley can all get fit and stay on the park we might have a young but sneaky good backline emerging.

Nguyen not really getting a ton of footy isn't much of an issue if he keeps the dangerous small forwards quiet. McGrath is usually a great choice for small lockdown defender but Nguyen might release him up the ground a bit more where his somewhat iffy decision making may not end up in a direct scoring chance for the opposition.

Small wins and all that

His tackle on Holmes (?) in the third was super strong. Tough little defender.
Finally guys with speed who can tackle! How hard can it be. Imagine Hobbs doing that tackle - you can see him getting the guy too high and then throwing the arms up in disbelief a free has been paid.

Gryan is not a proper name.
I think two kinds of people name their kid Gryan - weird Yarra Valley hippies or raging meth heads

I've met his mum briefly and she's neither of those so I can only assume there was some ****up with the birth certificate and by the time anyone noticed it was too late to change it

He’s actually meant to be named Ryan but when his olds were writing his name on the certificate they saw their new son aim that weird hook kick of his at a passing fly and they both let out a collective “grrrr!” and Gryan thus manifested.

Sat behind a few of his relatives at a Vic Country game at Geelong. Interesting is the way I would describe it.
