If we had Setterfield, Caldwell and Martin, would Rowell have dominated and shrugged off tackles?
If we had Caddy, May and Draper, would we have kicked over a 100 points?

Its interesting how this delayed season opener game has seen our fortunes flipped.

As a team going forward, I dont see how we finished as a true representation of where we are at. I think of how our team held together, makeshift and all, and who is returning, it shows we have a lot of potential.

Bit hard to orchestrate a clean out of sub par senior players without bottoming out. Our issue was we held onto mediocre players for too long rather than investing games into the youth. It kept us off the bottom because bad mature players are more effective than good youth but it was never going to lead to long term improvement

Yep, and in a 'results driven business' it takes big balls to cut deep and remove those players. I'm not convinced about Brad's coaching (yet), but give him a lot of credit for taking this project on and being the public face of it, knowing that the heat will be on him.

Vaild points.
I do remember when Suns were a young team & had Gaz Jr. (in career best form (also debatable the G.O.A.T) and they were getting smashed week after week. That team of players are long gone....

I had it on, but zoned out after half time....so dissapointing that only a few players had a crack, the rest seemed dissapointed they had their end of season holidays put on hold.

Sad thing is a lot of the injuries we have will hang over to next year as a lot of the guys being cut or traded are actually durable

Good to see Roberts and kako get centre bounces in the second half.

Well get used to it folks.
This is the result of a club that was more about the bank balance than winning games.
A club who kept backing an average list manager.
A club who allowed the one of the biggest **** ups in AFL history to go unchecked.
A club that took two years under the new guys to realise the list needed another rebuild.
We finally hit the bottom of the barrell.

If anything could ever lead a person to admire Saints fans, this is it.
