Id give Cripps a couple of weeks off if he's got groin and back issues as reported. Would love to see Stocker and Marcbank. Give us some more grunt.

Whether to waste a trip across for this one (really dislike anything to do with FFC too)....
Booked in advance of the fixtures but not overly enticing ATM & Capt Marvel.

In: JSOS, Betts, Cottrell, Stocker
Out: Murphy, Casboult, Setterfield, SPS

In: Effort, defensive running, being switched on from minute 1 until the final siren, hard tackling
Out: Defensive jogging, corralling, poor decision making

The club is getting Murphy to his 300th, whether we like it or not. He’s been a great servant to this club that they won’t be campaigners and let him ride the medical sub role until he can play in his 300th. Terrible look to our future targets if we did that.

The sooner we can get some of our injuries back and in the 22 and Murphy, Plowman, Ed, Levi out of the 18/22, the better.

Outs (Definitely):
Casboult - literally a statue; looks hindered, not playing as second ruck so rationale for including him to give Pittonet a chop out is not there.

Players quite likely to be in the firing line and may well be dropped:
- Dow: for those expecting him to have a wonderous breakout game, it's not going to happen. He needs continuity and time but the jungle drums will beat hard and it won't be surprising if he's cut this week.

Players in poor form who will be axed when a comparable/better replacement is available:
- Williamson - Newman/Marchbank will take his spot. Playing devoid of confidence; no defensive element to his game. Very disappointing to see given he has got his body right.

Players in poor form who should be axed but will keep their spot:
- Setterfield - whether it's solely due to being played out of position, he has been really poor
- Murphy - will be carried to game 300. You would expect a lot better from a veteran, and whilst not discounting that he does do some great things on the ground, he should be held to a higher standard as his turnovers or non-commitment to attack the ball tend to have directed scoring consequences

Seriously need to be under M/C consideration on their output
- Murphy
- SPS (some glimpses but no defender)
- Williamson
- Casboult
- Ed (did a bit better in the 2nd half)
- Setterfield
- Dow
+ Jones (inconsistent defender)
* McKay (4 goals but needs improvement in a lot of areas of forward play, keeping feet, contesting)

No VFL match which is disappointing.
Inclusions from: Parks, Marchbank (?), McGovern (?), JSOS (?), TDK (?), Kennedy, Stocker, Cottrell, Betts, Cunners, OMac, Owies

We’re lacking defenders to replace SPS & Willo. Throw Newnes to the HBF. Insert Parks or Marchbank in, though Caleb will be rusty & not a great kicker. JSOS defender...?

Williamson > see above, Parks/CM
Murphy > Betts
Casboult > OMac
Setterfield > Cunners or Cottrell for a wing position (Setters should be inside)
Ed > are tagging anyone? Won’t be dropped
SPS > up the ground or Stocker in
Dow > needs the run to gauge or Stocker in
Someone also needs to make way for JSOS if fit. Hopefully no injury to J.Martin.

Have to wait for this weeks injury report to find out if any of Silvagni, McGovern and Marchbank are available. Hopefully we get a nice update on TDK and Newman too.

McDonald comes in for Casboult. Parks or Marchbank in for Williamson. Depending on availability and how we push the magnets around, one of Silvagni, Stocker, Kennedy, Cottrell, McGovern, Cuningham in for Murphy & Curnow.

There's an argument to put Dow back in the reserves and play him on-ball for as much game time as possible to work on a few things defensively. There's also the whole let's play Setterfield as a winger' thing that clearly doesn't work; he's best 22 for mine but as an inside mid who tackles, not a defensive wing. Serious ying and yang for Plow when comparing these first two rounds.

The outs :- Setterfield, Dow, Plowman, Casboult, Murphy.

The Ins :- Silvani, Cottrel, McDonald, Ramsey, Durdin

Couple of personnel changes and an attitude change to be a bit more defensively minded will see a much improved performance this week unless the dreaded injury curse continues .
Emphasis on more pressure being applied to the oppo ball carrier forcing errors/turnovers must be the emphasis here for this game as it should be for all games .
Was pretty much sickened to see Pendlebury walz around all night with what seemed like an eternity to sum up his options .
He makes time stand still it shouldnt go backwards when he has the ball .

Our tackle numbers have generally been pretty good under Teague although we still havent found the right balance of attack v defence in Teagues tenure imo .
To emhasise tackling we have laid an average of 35 tackles total which is appalingly low .
And 5 inside 50 tackles in the first 2 games of the last 2 seasons .
Bruise free footy is not going to get it done for us we arent that good yet .
Expecting a much more physical effort v Freo .

Mckay played against the best defender in the league and had 2 or 3 on him but kicked 4 goals, worked himself into the game. He loses feet and gets out of position. His game yesterday was a 6 out of 10 for mine. I will judge him over the next 2 to 3 weeks but Mckay is a positive at this stage
Yep the fact that he kicked 4 straight after his well documented struggles in front of goal is a big plus .
Number of scoring shots last week couldnt convert enough so is getting the opportunities .
Has only just played 50 games in a struggling side its not going to just fall into place .
But confident he is definately on the right track and will go from strength to strength as the side develops .

Its unbelievable the negative feedback he is getting. Played against the best team defence in rd 1 and had 5 scoring shots. Played on the best key defender in the league last night and kicks 4.

If he carry's on this "poor form" everyone is talking about he will kick near 70 goals this season.

Looks like Freo's 2 big KPDs in Hamling and Pearce are out injured for weeks. Don't know anything about Freo's list, but it seems that Brennan Cox would be next in line. He's young at 23yo and 195cm. Hoping McKay will have a huge game against a lesser opponent after a tough game against Moore.

All Australian from last year Luke Ryan will go to him, very good defender.
