I think with Scott that is the general effort we will get til about Rd 15 or so, hopefully it will extend a bit later this year. Someone mentioned last week the players may have been a bit flat with the Dale Tapping memorial, and the slickness of the Crows wouldn't have helped. We just need to become more slick ourselves (will be through player turnover) and keep working on not getting too many drawn to the ball.

Seeing Draper collapse packs is a joy, unusual for a recent EFC big man, and a good sign is the opposition are the ones feeling the brunt. The commentators had a go at Farrell for not going hard enough late but to be fair Sammy had already cleaned him up twice.

Prior was horrible in the first half. Double-fisting is such a hack move. Catch the ****ing ball. McKay is really lacking in confidence. The supporters' reaction to him won't be helping! Reid was fantastic. Really good. Saad is a gun. I can't wait to see him play a full game.

We were pretty bad. For me, the take away from the last two games is Adelaide is very very good, we're mediocre and Port are rubbish.

You do not have to just throw every young bloke into the middle either. Winning a few games is pretty handy for the young blokes as well.

Maybe… the first half was definitely Essington and Port were terrible enough that it didn’t actually hurt us in the end. Game should’ve been over at half time and would have been against 80% of the comp.

I don’t know who played in the third quarter, maybe that was Essendon, but the last was basically 3 players dragging us over the line on individual talent and instinct and it got a lift out of a few more. I don’t think it’s a tactic that stands up in finals but if it gets the monkey off the back for a while then it’s still useful for where we are at the moment.
