Main negative stats wise was our center clearances. Its all well and good shutting down Oliver but we were smacked in the middle when Setterfield was in there.

I know we go on about the younger guys (Durham, Martin etc) but the real young guys stood up tonight.

Roberts (28 possessions), Menzie (4 goals), Reid (21 possessions, 10 marks), Hobbs (20 & 2) even Saad El-Hawli (18 possessions, 5 marks, 4 tackles) were all great.

Draper probably the biggest positive of the more mature guys.
Durham we are expecting that week in, week out effort now.
Shiel turned back the clock, especially early he was important.

Merrett we are not worthy. I so hope he enjoys some success, even finals, and deep finals by the time his career finishes deserves it. Best player since Hird &/or Lloyd

Goldy is a great back up . 300 + plus games and some good ones for us, don't under estimate his value for us.

Winning the stoppage clearance is the key. It is nice to win the centre bounce stuff but we have been a train wreck at stoppage.

Thought it was one of our better games in terms of cleanness by foot. Prefer those that aren't polished kicks stay in the reserves all it takes is a few horrid turnovers and we are a different team right down to a belief level. Apart from the Adelaide match (where the guys may have been effected by the Tapping memorial) been a decent start to the year.

Caddy - how good is it having a competitive beast up forward hopefully looks after himself a bit and works on the hands a little
Hobbs - hopefully keeps that knack of kicking goals like in his first year
El Hawli - please try find more slick jets like this Rosa, was pushed by May and nearly killed by Perko in that marking contest
Draper - those pack marks are pure gold, hopefully he keeps this up and we sign him
Menzie - keep building and working on belief and composure is a gun runner and when confident a top kick
Shiel - could play a few more years and retain athleticism with his professionalism
Durham - the antidote to everything Essington
Reid, Roberts and Ridley bring composure to the panic merchants
Kako - yay a small forward with fancy footwork
