Collingwood fans saying they didn’t play to their best. Hha. Because we didn’t allow them to after the first quarter. Without the extra support from umps, I would love to get them in the finals.

Clean up some disposal and some composure, however, we are on the right path.

Oh, and the booing? It happens, stop trying to control it. It’s not right but it happens. I doubt supporters were booing Pendlebury. But deal with it. Wasn’t right to boo Ablett, Jobe, Goodes. Pies supporters would be booing later if they lost in in the same fashion.
Not that we didn't allow them too, they got their way in the first, the ground was on their terms...slowly we swung it til they were playing our game, they were manic in transition which isnt their go. Every now and then they stopped propped and chipped round the ground , looked good til again we'd force the issue. Bodes well that we are getting teams , even the best teams to play our game.

Pardon the intrusion, I am so jacked off with the one sided maggoting that happened today. Think you deserved the win, unfortunately that counts for buggerall in the wash up.
Bad luck, hope our two teams have no such BS overriding our game in the next round.

The transition of Ambrose from vafa player to afl standard defender is astonishing and undersold in the footy world, he's super dependeble, shuts down an opponent and is gaining the confidence to attack now too
My boy!! You need to put this in his player thread.

Non that play Essendon
Collingwood came to play with a strong first quarter, we were slow during that first quarter but worked their way into the match, and I think the better side won but at least Essendon are now 3-3

-Stringer was again good but I do wish he would play in front rather than being caught behind
-Parish was poor during the first half, doesn't seem to have the swagger he has previously
-Bellchambers seems to be nearing the end, he was better in the second half but we need to start looking for Draper to come in
-Myers seems to always go to ground
-Zakka always seems to jog around

I noticed that we got caught out twice early with their beautiful tempo shift and spread, third time round however we had figured it out and shut down that part of their game.
Them saying they had a poor game is a copout, they just got matched in intensity and effort by a team with less polished skills. We were fast, took risks, tackled hard around the game, basically played some real good footy.

Wow. Terrible first quarter but thank god it was rectified.
I hope this loss is one that won't hurt us but will in fact be good for us.
We can take it up to this mob and out play them, but by god we have to use the ball better!
We were our own worst enemy out there at times.
Just a bit more composure please!

And those umpires need to give it away. What a shit house performance!
When will it be our turn on the right side of some ****** umpiring?

Even the most one eyed Pies fans surely know that the booing was at the umpires and not Pendlebury.
........well he did flop for a milked free on our 50 when we were pushing hard moments after tippa had lost his head for play on..

Fans don't forget. He's better than that.

Bad luck guys. It was an immense lift from your team when I presumed you’d be blown away. We were hanging on with broken fingernails and got lucky today. Saad, Daniher, Stringer - v impressive.
Collingwood have only been injuries away from being this good for a number of years now and in that time they've found more players.

The better side won on the day, we can all agree on that. Just frustrating that someone not playing the game was able to dictate and influence the game in such a strong way by making poor decisions.

Must admit that I was sceptical how our game plan would hold up. To fight back and to push one of the top sides the way we did is credit to the boys. They fought right to the end.

Guelfi was brilliant in the first half. Joe is coming on in leaps and bounds. TBC was servicable against one the premier big men of the decade.

What's the alternative?

Argue the loss? You can tall about not accepting it, but check out the ladder.
You don’t know what you’re up against.

For example, he suggested after the WADA verdict that the suspended players just run out and play in round 1.

You won’t win

Emotional about losing but there is more positive to take from the game than negative - I have no doubt we can improve more on that more than they can. Some thoughts on where improvement comes from:
- Don’t let the three goals fool you, Bags was again ordinary and lucky to get on the end of some chains and get some cheapies. We get better when he goes out and Laverde or Begley come in.

- Smack is the right foil for Joe. Brown is a decent third tall but Stringer is that guy. We get better if Smack comes back and Brown goes out.

- Fantasia out is a big loss

- Hottest game the young blokes have ever played in and you could see it early. All will be better for it.

- Shiel isn’t a bad kick, he is just kicking badly. He’ll be fine - everything else is at a standard out midfield hasn’t seen for a long, long time.

Umpires were frustrating but tbh if we had been better at a few things well within our control we would have won anyway.
