Still replaying the last couple of minutes in my head with walla trying to kick to the middle of the ground and it getting turned over, saad almost breaking through off half back and shiel turning it over from half back. Gees what could have been if one of those came off.

Umpiring aside, we had our chances all day and kicked them straight onto the chest of the opposition. Collingwood were basically 4 goals in front at the first quarter and all of that scoring had come on the back of turnovers.

Time to ban the look-away handball. We're so ******* out of sync with each other it's not funny.

We were let down by those who consistently fail under serious pressure.

Myers as a liability as was Mitch Brown.

Zaharakis had one of his poor games when the heat is really on.

Hurley was decent for the most part but a few he ran under was just inexcusable for a senior guy.

Ambrose evened and won some huge contests. Always putting body heat on guys.

Guelfi seems like a big time pressure player. So many great contests.

Ridley and Redman were exposed a bit at this level but some of Ridley's kicking got us out of jail in the second half.

Bellchambers fought back well to get in the contest.

McGrath was rubbish. Panic under pressure and got outworked by Grundy at one stage.

At the end it was too little for too few. We just need to find replacements for Myers, Brown, Baguley and put some heat on a few more to be at the pointy end.
Agree with most of this except I was happy with Ridley and Redman and though McGrath was quiet but I wouldn't say it was rubbish.

Myers, Zakka and Brown are keeping guys like Lavarde, Francis and Langford out of the side, not sure how much longer that should be the case for.

Walla has a habit of drawing high free kicks with his actions and the umpires have finally woken up - None were free kicks with the way the game has been umpired for the last year
Maybe he needs to have a midweek latte with Duckwood.

Had plenty of chances, beat ourselves.
Does 3 gimme goals mean we're now going to need a surgeon to seperate the siamese twins.
Bottom line, Francis plays Essendon win. I'm running out of bandaids.

Thought missing Fantasia was ultimately the difference. Not just his class but mainly how well he hits up and presents at the ball carrier.
Definitely could of used him as an option inside 50 today. Joey had a corker considering where hes at and had a few chopped off by teammates that he should have held onto.

Good effort to get back into it after a poor start. We didnt get to play our game today. credit to Collingwood, they won the arm wrestle in the middle. Just that little more composed under pressure.

Umps are what the umps are. Tippa has no head. Collingwood can't be caught HTB . Hooker can't touch Cox (yeah, i went there :p).

Shame Raz wasnt in. Stringer & Joey were on. Add him in, we win by a few. He straightens us up a lot and splits defences.
Hopefully back next week.

We had a few off the boil. Parish, Smith, Zaka and Heppell i felt were a bit off Collingwood's pace. The skip came into the game late and did a lot of good things to keep us in it.

Joey is back. This makes me happy.
Shiel is kicking efficiency off being one of the best mids in the comp.
Love our backline. They stood up today. Hurls needs to stop bombing the ball up in the air.

On a side note - Pendles is a gun. Pure gun. He tore us apart today.

We’re going far this year. This was a very optimistic loss that well and truely could’ve been a win.

Shiel was both brilliant and insanely frustrating.
The 3rd quarter was Guelfi’s best ever.
Daniher’s best game in 2 years.
Saad was the game changer.
The boys got basically no reward for their intensity and never put their head down - put Orazio in that game today and we would’ve won by 4 goals, we were the better team for the majority of the game.

I thought Parish showed why he isn’t best 22 today, his kicking inside 50 was worse than Shiel’s.

On Parish, just watching the reply, that failure to have a shot with two minutes before half time was costly.

Fanta was a big out, just so dangerous and creative.

Bad luck guys. It was an immense lift from your team when I presumed you’d be blown away. We were hanging on with broken fingernails and got lucky today. Saad, Daniher, Stringer - v impressive.
Today the better side won, thought you could have been further in front at quarter time and showed why the Pies are a top four side. I loved the Moore v Daniher battle in the first half, didn't know Moore was such a good defensive player, always saw him as a forward.

Collingwood lost (narrowly) to then flag favourites Richmond twice last year.

In the finals it was a different story.

Am I saying we are going to go on some fairytale run from here and go deep into September? No. But sometimes losses like today against quality opponents can have a galvanising effect.
