I was getting ready to post that everything is as it should be.

Literally everything that should have happened did happen for the first 3 quarters. Not enough grunt on the inside. Badly found out for a second tall forward/marking target. Players who lack physical presence lacked physical presence. Witches hat was a witches hat (though that didn't really change - he got gifted some goals).

We did very well playing 17-18 effective players.

Then we took control as the game opened up. This is how Parish came into the game in the last quarter, it wasn't because he started dominating on the inside.

Now we're in this weird spot. I suppose the game is played over 4 quarters but if we want to base a game on taking control once a game opens up I suspect that we'll get found out more often than not. We could blame the umpires but then we'd also have to wonder how we were within 10 goals at half time.

Obviously the game says we're quite close. We desperately need some useful inside grunt to weather the storm when the heat is in the game. We can't assume that Pies wouldn't put us away next week.

It also clear that this was the first game Ridley and Redman had played with that sort of intensity. Both struggled early but I thought that both worked back into the game well.

I'm not advocating for Brown to be dropped because of his game, or at all, but we seriously need to think about playing Draper. Daniher can't ruck for shit and Bellchambers, well, I don't really know what he does most of the time. We need both another marking target inside forward 50 and a second ruck that is competitive (without robbing us of the guy who is probably the best forward in the game from playing forward).

The way I look at it is this. You've got a choice to either show some class and cheer a great player in Pendlebury or act like a full blown knob.
It's akin to yelling at someone who's not even in the room, let alone vicinity. it's mental.
There was cheering as well as boos.

The presentation was less than 5 minutes after a close game finished, where some supporters who feel like they got their arse reamed in watching a team they support. Emotion doesn't switch off in an instant and these people were expressing as much.

Personally, I think Bucks misread the booing in his comments, which is quite poor.

Look, once the emotion wears down, we actually weren't terrible. Collingwood are arguably the best team in the league and we had the better of them for 3 quarters. Collingwood held on, but that's a game that could've gone either way. We lost the game ourselves with our shithouse finishing; Collingwood didn't really go out and earn that win.

Disappointing not to get the 4 points but at least we aren't Essington.
Walla had his head ripped off 5 times in the forward third. Did not get one.

If we got what we deserved we would have had the opportunity to put scoreboard pressure on and not chase the game from behind.

Mistakes were a result of needing to go quick.

We played a good game but got completely reamed, there’s not a lot more to it than that

This x100.
You cant just switch off emotion in an atmopshere like that.
Bucks should have shut his mouth about the booing, he should look at how his own supporters act.
Talk about the pot booing the kettle because of its colour.

and has made it a bigger thing than it was. The only thing that people will remember from this game now.

Some people say ruckmen aren’t that important anymore - and maybe they aren’t at the stoppage - but if we had Grundy and they had Bellchambers I can’t see how we don’t win by 3-4 goals. It will be our achilles heal all year.

Shocking first quarter, Pies all over us. But bloody great effort to work our way back. Just lacked some poise in that last quarter and Pies experience (and umpires) got them over the line.

Didn’t expect Joey to find touch so quick, he is only going to get better.

Special shout out to Ambrose and Guelfi. We’re good enough to mix it with the best.

Oh and ps we weren’t booing Pendlebury so get over it.

Some of the most dreadful umpiring you could see.

I’m proud of them, it’s hard to win you are outnumbered by 3 players.

It was so pleasing to drown out their sad Collingwood chants with thunderous boos.

Well done, Bombers. 👍🏻

... and people are wondering why I was quoting hit outs during the game?

T-Bell is just not that influential in the middle. He is more worth when he goes forward, than he is on the ball.
