We were let down by those who consistently fail under serious pressure.

Myers as a liability as was Mitch Brown.

Zaharakis had one of his poor games when the heat is really on.

Hurley was decent for the most part but a few he ran under was just inexcusable for a senior guy.

Ambrose evened and won some huge contests. Always putting body heat on guys.

Guelfi seems like a big time pressure player. So many great contests.

Ridley and Redman were exposed a bit at this level but some of Ridley's kicking got us out of jail in the second half.

Bellchambers fought back well to get in the contest.

McGrath was rubbish. Panic under pressure and got outworked by Grundy at one stage.

At the end it was too little for too few. We just need to find replacements for Myers, Brown, Baguley and put some heat on a few more to be at the pointy end.

Haha no you didn't you said something like 'the pies will put their foot down and put us away'.
We played finals grade footy. That's something to be happy about at least
Was actually surprised that we came back thought they didn't have it in them.

Iv'e witnessed so many Anzac Day games we we just rolled over for the entire game when Collingwood dominated.

Walla had his head ripped off 5 times in the forward third. Did not get one.

If we got what we deserved we would have had the opportunity to put scoreboard pressure on and not chase the game from behind.

Mistakes were a result of needing to go quick.

We played a good game but got completely reamed, there’s not a lot more to it than that
Decent summary. Walla got jerked.

I was getting ready to post that everything is as it should be.

Literally everything that should have happened did happen for the first 3 quarters. Not enough grunt on the inside. Badly found out for a second tall forward/marking target. Players who lack physical presence lacked physical presence. Witches hat was a witches hat (though that didn't really change - he got gifted some goals).

We did very well playing 17-18 effective players.

Then we took control as the game opened up. This is how Parish came into the game in the last quarter, it wasn't because he started dominating on the inside.

Now we're in this weird spot. I suppose the game is played over 4 quarters but if we want to base a game on taking control once a game opens up I suspect that we'll get found out more often than not. We could blame the umpires but then we'd also have to wonder how we were within 10 goals at half time.

Obviously the game says we're close. We desperately need some useful inside grunt to weather the storm when the heat is in the game. We can't assume that Pies wouldn't put us away next week.

It also clear that this was the first game Ridley and Redman had played with that sort of intensity. Both struggled early but I thought that both worked back into the game well.

I'm not advocating for Brown to be dropped because of his game, or at all, but we seriously need to think about playing Draper. Daniher can't ruck for shit and Bellchambers, well, I don't really know what he does most of the time. We need both another marking target inside forward 50 and a second ruck that is competitive (without robbing us of the guy who is probably the best forward in the game from playing forward).
TBC toiled away and was more effective as Grundy tired but yeah, that was always going to be a tough match-up. He took some good grabs around the ground - far from our worst (Brown wins that honour today).

At the ground and was crystal clear, people were booing umpires and Pendlebury’s flop. I don’t care if it’s an Essendon player, shit like that deserves booing.

Scott is a great player but that is shithouse behaviour.
Our players acted for frees as well, come on.

Just went for a 5km run to burn off the frustration and i am still fuming

Umpires were crap. Like almost Royal Commission worthy crap.
That being said, we absolutely torched the footy in the last 2 and a half minutes.

Shiel had a 2 minutes to forget, and unfortunately it came in tje last two minutes of the game. I hope the coaching staff highlight the moment woth about1.5 minutes left where he went down on the wing when he felt contact around his legs and feigned for the free kick. Treloar picked it up and pumped it inside 50.

**** off mate. You can't be bringing nuance into an emotional discussion. That shit don't belong here.

Get that waste of space Myers out of the ******* team!

Stringer is a beast, Guelfi stood up massively. Loved Daniher’s battle with Moore, great clash.

We better learn a lot from that game about the pressure required for four quarters
