Finally something clicked last week and I get the need to select players and tweak game plan to better target your next opponents weaknesses but in this case I don’t think we should be making too many changes. We have to try and reproduce last weeks performance before we start getting too cute with selection or tactical changes.
In: player selected in round one, played a solid game as a mid/fwd, injured, missed 4 games, has had two weeks full training.

Out: player not selected in round one, played three games since, has had minimal impact in those games.

I don't think that's being cute, or making overly tactical changes. It's going back to a preferred player who won more ball, took more marks, gained more territory, laid the same number of tackles, had the same number of inside 50's, and negligably fewer score involvements/goal assists in one game, as the player he'd be replacing did in three.

It's a pretty logical change for me, and should only be avoided for medical reasons.

Interesting going back over all the posts.

Most wanted LOB & Polson out. Said they did little. Yet neither have been dropped (yet) and LOB is in the 18 and is playing.

I know LOB was praised for the job he did last week by the coach. Very happy. Team game. I know Polson did a similar role (but not sure how well?).

Team ahead of individuals is so important
LOB's role in keeping Hunter out of the game was very important, unfortunately for him people can't see that on TV but they can see him fumble 3 times before getting a free kick out on the wing and then that becomes the only thing they remember.

Keep in mind you can get really windy conditions down in Tassy.

Might be hard to win aerial contests. Could play into Hawthorn's hands if we go into the match too top heavy.
It is windy as crap right now here in Launceston ..expect it to be just as bad Sunday...so the club needs to take this into consideration re game plan

On the AFL website 17 people tipped Hawthorn. None tipped Carlton.

Even though the match is 13th vs 15th, we are coming off a win while they lost. Even though the only opponent we share was a big win for us and a loss for them. Even though we are just hitting peak fitness and they have a bunch of niggles and have struggled to run out quarters and games.

I know we suck, but i am a bit stunned by that... if I was Bolts I would be plastering it up on the change room walls as a bit of inspiration...
Hawks have made York Park a bit of a fortress ..they know how to play the ground well ...If we win it won't be a cake walk

Some people still wouldn't see it even if they were at the ground. We had our best win for years on Sunday and some are still not happy.

Ok but only 1 change...

No. Playing in the VFL. Was on limited minutes in his first game. Played a good chunk of the second game but didn’t see much of the ball.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
If he (lang) is over the injuryand still can’t fibd the ball that would be a bit of a worry and frankly he may just end up in the 2s more often than what he would like. Players have to want to play well and want the ball badly. Just look at Walsh...

I think most acknowledged the job both LOB and Murphy did on Hunter after Bolts raised it in his pres.
The question would be, "do we have somebody else that we believe could do an equal or better job than LoB did?" selection would suggest they don't, so best of luck to the kid, he has weapons.

In the case of Polson however, I believe if you asked the same question the answer would be yes, we do. For me, and my opinion only, Cunners is as quick and believe could provide a similar amount of pressure in the forward half.

Where I lean toward Cunners is that he just has more weapons than Polson, can play mid, harder around the ball, better kick, kicks more goals, more mature body and better with ball in hand.

All these things say to me whilst you don't want to play around too much with a winning team if you can see a "possible" way of improving it, you do and for the reasons listed above, I say you roll out Cunners

I'd be happy with that. We don't need to rush Charlie back in.
I'm happy with not rushing Charlie back into the side. If he isn't fit, let him sit out games until he is fit, and then bring him back in through the VFL to get match fitness and form!

If we drop SOS I'll vomit
Why though? I don't see a need to do so, but if the Match Committee aren't solely charged with putting the best team on the park against their adversaries, they may be doing it wrong.
We all have our favourites and some may still see our primary focus as development 'in-game'.....It's not and can't be.
It's simply to win games and everything, development included, that comes along with a winners mentality.
We already have more than our fair share of 'kids' involved and then have another batch likely to belt the door down in coming weeks; Williamson, Cuningham, Macreadie, Stocker, Schumacher etc.

All this talk this week about who'll be in and who'll come out, when it's possible and even likely that the 'No Change' sign goes up at 5pm. :)

That was a low act and I think they realised it in the end and changed it back, but it never should have happened in the first place as they where miles in front on the scoreboard and Buddy had already kicked his hundred.
I was there, Everyone wanted to see two champions kick a ton that night, but for the hawks to triple team Fev for the sole purpose to not reach it was poor. FYI I’m not saying they should’ve gifted it to him either.

He was very good. Will he be very good this week though?
That's the question that the MC have to answer and how the whole mechanism will function against the opponent.

That to me is a very progressive and proactive approach, even if it does back-fire here or there.
The MC have to be a very intelligent collective unit. I don't know whether they are though.

Who can see into the future?

What the MC do know is that;
1) Jack is in some pretty good form over a number of weeks
2) He offers versatility - he was able to drop back as the loose defender, take stints through the middle and be a lead up forward
3) Him being able to be that lead up player across half forward seemed to make the forward line work better
4) He created goals
5) he was just as effective with the ball on the deck as in the air
6) his defensive pressure was pretty good.

That to me seems to make him a valuable commodity for this week.

Doubt you will get this view over the line.

People seem to want the best players, rather than the best team
