Brad Scott and Ben McKay, genuinely go and f*** yourselves. I hate supporting this shite football club, I wish I never became a bombers fan. I’m sick and tired of losing to this rubbish team who are 12745 years old. I can’t believe what I even watched, what a waste of time this pathetic club is. I don’t want us playing in Anzac Day games anymore, what’s the point of embarrassing ourselves to the people who are most affected by what today means.
Wow

We had 13 players under 50 games

We will have days this year where it all clicks but others where we get bullied. Bad losses don’t mean we aren’t on the right path.

I’m truly amazed anyone is surprised that a very experienced pies team got hold of us

Collingwood obviously sees Anzac Day as a real benchmark event and something to win at all costs and show the Anzac spirit. Winning this is an absolute non-negotiable on their fixture. For us it’s more about enjoying the occasion and “seeing what happens”
But then we always claim that players want to come to our club becuase of the 'big games' that we participate in...
and routinely lose.

Getting pantsed on national TV time & time again is not good for the club.
Collingwood are always competitive in this game - we are not.

somehow managed to not see a single second of this game, which is probably an Anzac first. Seems like that was a very good thing and I'm in no hurry to change it!
Save your eyes Mike.

In games like these though I look for the small wins like a nice passage of play or a goal/mark. Not much you can take away from yday. The first half wasn’t too bad - ADW mark and two goals is worth a look. As was kakos toe poker but that was in the second half.

Unfortunately we’ve only won Anzac Day 10 times with 2 draws in 31 years.

I think we need to factor in that a young side had been on the road for 2 weeks in a row and had played in hot conditions up on the GC. Collingwood got 2 extra days to prepare as well. We were due a flat week. I was just hoping it would be after Anzac Day seeing as it’s the type of occasion you get yourself up for. The disappointing thing is we looked utterly uninspired and overwhelmed by the occasion instead. Such meekness doesn’t befit the stage they were on.

I come in peace. Just wanted to say how brilliant the crowds were for both teams with the respect they showed during the welcome to country ceremony at the start of the game. Kudos to both you guys and Collingwood. Could hear a pin drop. So much better than the flogs at the dawn service.

At least Kyle says they’ll do a deep dive on the game. He acknowledges it was too terrible to overlook. Lots of reviews today I’d imagine.
As a whole club I cannot work out how they trumpet the big games that we play in (and have done this promotion for years - even using it as a reason why players would come to EFC!) while at the same time we are mostly non competitive in these games.
It is bewildering and embarrassing!
Of course Kane Cornes comes out this morning questioning our place in these marquee games. It is hard to argue.
Other than the investment in getting the thing up & running all those years ago we do little to show that we want these games if on field is anything to go by...
This view is not confined to this version of the rebuild either - I have thought it for a long time.

Think back when we were good and Collingwood were poor - they were not getting rolled over by 10 goals.
We often had to fight hard to win even in the 1999-2001 period.

Collingwood weren’t terrible back then, they were right on the cusp of consecutive grand final losses and ever since then they’ve been in and out of the top 4 with a number of flags to show for it

I used the period when we were at our best - but from memory the mid to late 90s were not good for Collingwood.

We have not ever performed this badly on AD. It is a shame we can’t seem to share in the wins to keep it interesting.
IMO we have been for the majority somewhat competitive in this game over the years.

If anything I would hope Welsh and co give the afl feedback about the 5 day break and two consecutive interstate games. Gave us virtually no chance.

As is being pointed out in The Age today, it’s likely the AFL is quite aware that us being shithouse is going to hurt their bottom line

Collingwood had a heap of competitive players back then and that has been our problem with the amount of pea hearts we have had recently. Collingwood should have got nowhere near Brisbane in the 02 GF but guys you don't hear much about like Rupert Butheras had a suicidal attack on the ball that day - that is always hard to play against no matter how talented the opposition is

Spot on.
We are way too easy to play against - even if you are one of the better players (we won't tag you, harass you or do anything to make your Saturday arvo particularly difficult)
When we did have a few of these guys in the one team - we were a good team (Johnsons, Hardwick, dare I say Wallis & even Barry Young)

Got to say, this gave me a laugh to get over my own disappointment and saved me from kicking all the toys out of the basket. Thank you for that.

Nice meltdown
