Well Ryan gets 2026 and HDM till 2027, we’re locked into that unless someone lures them away. I’d imagine Steele gets an extension, time will tell if it’s 1 or 2 years. My preference is 1. I am more optimistic about him than either Ryan or HDM, but then I’d rather we could keep someone like a Markov (better defender than Ryan) or a Macrae (better midfielder than HDM) than them.

Mid season draftee who has shown quite a bit in his 3 games so far, one of the better runners at the club and he does run both ways I think we should give him a 2 yr deal. That would fair to both parties and I think he has shown in his 3 mths at the club firstly in the VFL and then when given an opportunity at AFL level he has shown he has plenty to work with.

He definitely shows he can play at AFL level and although giving him 1 yr would also be alright but I think he could really come on if the club gave him a 2yr deal.

We're potentially digressing, but how much are 2-3 years of development in the club's environment worth?

After 3 years in their respective club, how would a Collingwood early second-round pick compare to a first-round North pick?

My theory is that training under Fly and alongside Pendles/Howe/Moore in one's formative years would be a significant competitive advantage.
