And who were our experienced forwards in 2010 ?
The year Jack won his first Colman in his 4th year?

Simmonds over 150 games

Tambling over 100 games, Morton a 5 year player

Polak over 100 games at that point?

enjoy making yourself unnecessarily angry at football games due to lack of understanding of what’s actually happening and where we are at in the cycle.

another who thinks we are working with a seasoned list 5-6 years into a plan. 🤦
Who said seasoned list I corrected your statement about one pre season , every year for every club it’s one pre season , if you can’t see the lack of intensity in our game plan then that’s you cal, , we have no semblance of game plan at all and that’s not due to the age of the list coaching is actually a pretty easy gig when your dealing with athletes who have the skills

The hardest coaching gig is under 14 and below when your dealing with need to teach the skills , at senior elite level you need to implement a style and philosophy and im not seeing this in any shape or form admittedly I coached/managed a different sport , but we had a philosophy test all kids up to the age of 15 were equal it’s what happens after that , that makes them great , you can’t teach adults new tricks , but you can implement a style of game that suits their skill sets

the essendon fans have completely swallowed the propaganda that they are a young rebuilding side in the same rebuilding timeframe as us

I have a bridge to sell them
Lmao they've been half assing it for 2.5 decades.

you applied for the head role then yeah assuming it’s easy?

Let’s reassess in 2 years.

If we are still playing like this in 2 years I’ll be right there with you holding red flags.

But that’s not where the conversation is at for the now with what we have currently.

No I didn’t apply wrong sport and my days are long gone , plus im wouldn’t have got past the diversity questions

Armstrong was looking good early days too before he got injured. It will take a year or two but the early signs are looking good.
Don't have to look any further than Cadman.
Taken a little while but he's arrived.

While it was a hard game to watch it wasn't on us as to why. Essendon started the game playing 2 behind the ball when they had it in their attack and it was them who shut the game down in the 2nd and 3rd quarters with their desire to try and make it a contested slog rather than allowing us to run at them like we did during the first quarter. Credit to us though is that instead of playing into their hands we actually showed maturity and instead of just blazing away and giving them easy possession on the turnover we played the possession game by using uncontested marks to try and wait until we found an opening that we could attack through. Sure we could have taken some more aggressive options at times and opened up options through the corridor but given the lack of experience throughout the team I don't mind that we kept things simple and backed ourselves in to eventually get the chances to hit the scoreboard.

Defensively I thought we had our best set up structurally since early in the season with Miller and Young taking the key roles, Vlastuin Brown and Broad as the 3rd tall intercept defenders and Short and Banks providing the drive off HB with run and carry, not shocked to see them both kick goals as they pushed up from HB with the play. Seen a lot of talk about how we can move on Balta and I hope people aren't actually serious with that suggestion. Baltas 2025 has been an annus horribilus both on and off field for obvious reasons and it can't be easy dealing with the mental impact it has had on him, where he knows he has let his teammates and himself down with his actions, then add in the constant chopping and changing in regards to where he is playing. Over the next couple of years he is going to be an important part of what we all hope will be a back line that takes us back to the top.

Also seen a lot of comments about Sonsie and I thought before he got subbed out yesterday he had played a solid game. Sure there were a couple of moments he'd like again, but I felt he seemed more settled in the role he was being asked to play, he was getting back to support the defenders and was providing an option as an outlet. Hopefully his injury concern isn't something that will keep him out of the side long term because I'd like to see him succeed as the more kids that we have on our list currently that do come good, the less holes that we need to fill moving forward.

As for next week against the Eagles, if Sonsie is out, then I'd probably bring in Smith or Green as the sub, move Trezise into the starting 22 and go in with the same side.

Taj, Lalor, Seth and MRJ if he keeps it up are going to be a handful for oppo players. Hope Smilie comes along nicely to complement them.
Still not convinced about MRJ .. alot of flying around and great repeat efforts but not getting the footy or hurting the oppo .. overruns the opponent and the ball .. but there’s hope..

The Dreamtime game was congested mess too ..

The Dreamtime game was congested mess too ..
True, but in that one we played into the hands by continually turning the ball over by not showing patience

Prior to this season Cadman was looking way off the pace. H he had a breakout game against us kicking 4 I think and hasn’t looked back. Just shows how much tall fwds improve from year 1 to year 3 in the system.
Faull looks phenomenal for a 1st year fwd
And without a pre season.

Literally have more premierships than you, freo and saints combined. Plus we were never found guilty of drug use. You scraped a win against a full vfl side, with your best team, in what’s now considered one of the worst games ever played. I wouldn’t be too optimistic for your “future”.
Get out of your own world, mate. Essendon isn't the only team with inuries. If you honstly think thats Richmonds best team then you literally have paying so little attention I can't beleive your actually on a football forum. Surely you've at least heard of Lynch suspension and Balta court case? Even not footy fans would have heard of Balta and yet here you are apparently clueless. Dunno how we could have our best team and not feature them.

Not to mention the other 14 guys on our injury list with 5 done for the season. Essendon had 12 on their injury list with 6 done the season before this game for comparison.
