Another lacklustre performance like the Swans game, where we made 1 change.

Total lack of run. lack of intent to pressure, lack of hard running to space to create the overlap. But bombing like it's '70s football, where the players easily know what to do, requires no decision-making process. Our game plan is a shambles. Caracella was brought back to fine-tune the game plan I dont see it; all we see is constant bombing.

Yze and his assistants keep putting out the same slow midfield. Taranto, Hopper, Ross, Macintosh, and Prestia of late aint going to cut it, and it hasn't, but here we are week in and week out seeing the same movie.

Some say cant bring X player in cause he ain't playing that role, turn it up this year is a free hit to experiment.

Blight must be in period, another good performance 27 disposals and 14 marks, the MC must reward ressies form because why else do they play the game to press for senior selection. Kaleb Smith looked lost at sea and some contests reminded me like he was playing U12's out you go and Tresize in

Trainor looked great early on in the season, playing back but now on the wing looks like a run-of-the-mill player. No doubt he's going to make it in a big way, but seen enough to know he's more a backman than a winger.

Na we didn't choose Gray over him. We chose to pass.

We had four spots available at the time. I couldn't understand why we didn't use all four — even on six month contracts like the Bombers have done this year. Gave us the perfect opportunity to trial players to see if they were worthy of a list spot, and we didn't take it.
and the Bombers aren't even having the worst season in their history as we were last year

STILL have not heard anyone at the club come out and justify leaving a list spot empty in our worst year on record

suggests parts of the club leadership simply don't communicate to other parts

outside of draft night the place looks to be a mess

We going to spend 5 years on the bottom if we keep running Hopper, Taranto, Prestia, KMac/Ross midfields.

With the 2024 crop we will be like GWS on steroids with 22 first rounders in the side and some poor rookie campaigner as sub (on debut of course)

not sure why everyone keeps banging on about Davidson. We aren't in a position to top up with role players right now. Yes he would be in our best 23 but he's just a role player moving forward. We top up the list with role players and not draft top talent then we will be like St kilda, carlton and essendon or us of the 90's early 2000's. Shite forever! We are rebuilding and you dont build around role players, they come when you are contending.

Would love our first centre bounce to be something like:
Hopper, Lalor, Campbell with Taranto HFF.
If no Lalor then Hopper, Campbell, Mansell. Big body, offensive pace, defensive pace. Then just swap Mansell with Taranto or Prestia post CBA.
They will probably start Rankine in there, who tf is gonna catch him out of our current mids.

Of course we should have and we would have kept Archie may them not req sims and grabbed extra mid in the draft , #%# stupid list mgmt when u have players under your nose

😂 did Yze really say prior to the game he was excited about our midfield lining up for the game . How many bongs had he had before saying that .
Think his brain must have been on auto pilot listening to the dumb campaigner commentators asking questions. No way he meant that.

Macca gone season's end, and Prestia also. Ross useless liability so only Hopper TT left, and I hope the kids come on and push TT forward.

Think the reason, from what I heard, was his age and not in line with what we are doing. In hindsight, we should have kept him and played him wing like he was and not HF. Much better option than what we have now, I guess.

Yep totally agree. And while we're at it put him and his contract on trade table and pay part of it to offload him. I'd rather see time put into Blight and when Gibcus comes back in a few weeks time Balta is surplus. When you look at how a blue collar guy like Miller goes about it and then compare that with Balta's lackadaisical approach he really is a disgrace and a very poor leader.
Balta is having a mare, inconsistency a key factor. And being played as a stopper rather than an interceptor.
Coached the right way I still think he will be a very good player for us.

Lots of questionable list management decisions recently. Guys in front of face neglected over and over. Davidson would be our winger by the length of the Flemington. People clinging on to Fawcett gaining any form of coordination when May is already twice the footballer.

Add to this to things like the Balta 7 year deal. We're in this terrible position for a reason.
May twice the footballer fmd.
How would Davo go on our wing.

He’s clearly found Dima’s leftover stash of gummies

He's better than
Smith
Sonz
Green
Mansell
And always will be

Big ask for our young blokes to do a lot but we have a lot of experience out there showing little leadership and composure (other than Vlastuin)

Taranto/Hopper. Might be in our best 8 but probably worst main midfielders of any team.
Prestia three games - one good and two bad
Broad -average year.
Balta- ordinary
Nank - gives a lot but probably a bottom 6 ruck and useless at effective hit outs
McIntosh- ordinary and no class
Lynch - needed but can’t jump or separate any more
Short - ordinary when playing

Next experienced lot
HRS- ordinary
Mansell - tries but no class to be effective
Miller- been good
Ross - can do ok things but rarely gets it
MRJ-hasn’t improved
Dow - bit of improvement but low ceiling compared to other team mids
Samson - enough said

Disappointing

Balta has had a tough season for obvious reasons… but if anyone thinks we’d be proactively trying to trade out a quality KPP who can play defence, forward and ruck needs to re-assess.
Well, he can play defence...sort of, and he can play second ruck, but he's not a forward.

And just going by his last couple of games he's not much of a defender either.

Certainly looking that way , in sec game he had 14p 6 marks 2G , that would eclipse our two blokes combined just about every week , and wait for it ,,, he's 20yo, a one grab mark and kicks out of sight , you're prob right he wouldn't fit in at our club
Geez.
Your potting a kid in his 1st yr.

Shuffling the mids is moving the deck chairs on the titanic at the moment. Cotchin was able to work with a poor ruck and turn shit to diamonds but none of the current side are good enough to win clearances behind a badly beaten tap ruck.

English smashed us at stoppages and they were off to front running away. We need to bite the bullet and sort out the ruckman.

The midfield names keep changing but the clearance results are the same shite. Only thing that doesn’t change is who’s tapping the ball.
