Imagine seeing a midfield of aging players get beaten 14-4 in centre clearances and backing the same mix in again... to get beaten by 45-23 in clearances the next game. And they're clearance specialists, TT and Hopper can't run and make terrible decisions ball-in-hand.

How do you even play three talls forwards (in slippery conditions) in Faull, Sims and Trainor and still have 0 players leading at the ball carrier all game?

The biggest bright spot was Banks. Fans have been calling for Short to be dropped for years and the moment he gets injured we're proven right and the coaching staff are proven to be morons. Kmac2 is like our best midfielder 3 games into a proper run at it, again extremely predictable to fans. There's something wrong with our coaches.

Went the same as the other games we could have or should have won this year. Miss plenty of opportunities, some crap umpiring to give momentum to the opposition, fade out later in the game. Wins don't matter this year, but I really hope we learn from these losses.

Awful scheduling from the AFL to have us off a 5 day break, no doubt contributed to injuries. Legitimately devastated that Lalor has done a Hamstring, will be upset about that for weeks. Already was out for months with one before being drafted, I hope it's not reoccurring. He's one of the only things to get really excited about when we play. And Smillie has had Hamstring issues the whole year too.

Absolutely. Has had a few great individual games but I’m yet to see any form of leadership out there on fields.

but he is probably more ready for a VFL rest instead. Really missed Lynch throwing his weight around up forward even though he moves like the Titanic and looks generally cooked.
Disappointed in the fourth quarter capitulation but that's what you get from young teams.
Thought Banks had another good game and also McAuliffe. Gray also a positive.
Lalor, Green, Dow & Trainor had poor games. Few in a row for Green now and won't hurt Trainor to have a rest. Hopefully Lalor doesn't have a serious injury but a rest won't hurt him.
Will watch the VFL tomorrow, hoping to see continuing form from Sonsie and a good game from Alger, Fawcett and Judson particularly.
Also wish we had a bit of selection pressure on Tarranto & Hopper to keep them from getting complacent.

That was unacceptable. Dream time is a marquee fixture and that was a winnable game. Resting our skipper was disrespectful to every supporter.

We clearly needed another tall to replace lunch and instead we bought in junior because it was indigenous round. I generally laugh at people who whinge about woke, but this decision was a business one not a footballing one. Instead of a desperately needed marking and rucking option, we selected an effectual small forward who was gassed after a quarter.

Agree, would like to see the average during our premiership years. It's the reason Cumberland never got games and was delisted... Forward pressure is important.

Positives:

Banks — it's really clicked for him off half back now.
Gray — Grimes MK2 with that fist.
Brown — playing well every week now
McAuliffe — excellent first half. Ran out of legs, but so did half the team.
Ross — had to go onto the wing to cover Dow, and did a great job of it.
Miller — Rarely beaten, though did seem to be hobbling late.

Negatives:

• Injuries, especially the Lalor hammy
• Ralphsmith getting outmarked by a child twice
• Kaleb Smith is not an AFL player
• The whole team running out of legs and being pretty non-competitive in the last.

I’ve held fire on yze and still wanna see if he can establish himself as a coach. But currently the team lacks any dare or intent to attack. We never seem to run with any player with leg speed in the midfield, we are getting blasted in the ass and I’m seeing no change to midfield setup.

The current afl requires you to be free flowing and high scoring, this chip mark style protects us from heavy defeats but I’m worried it’s stifling our growth.

We will wait and see but currently I’m not convinced he’s the right coach going forward

I’m starting to get concerned about the direction of our midfield because it looks like it’ll take many years before we can assemble a good midfield.
