Not good enough for long enough unfortunately. That's going to happen with a young developing team. Hopefully we get Lalor back for the next game with Smillie the next one to debut as well. The weekly debate around Balta coming back in will no doubt happen yet again so probably just worth getting it over and done with and selecting him. As for who goes out, Lynch would be under a cloud given he was subbed out, Bauer probably needs a full game at VFL level, while Sonsie hasn't really grabbed his chance either.

A bad, bad day

Really promising start which was great to see. Our run, our carry, our pressure was great.

Being a hot day I knew the kids would tire out. But it’s the basic skill errors that cost us today, not our work rate.

Missing easy goals, missing easy targets, making terrible decisions by hand, dropped marks.

I’ll say it, but Lynch is an absolute shadow of the player he once was.

Bauer I wouldn’t mind seeing him get a full game. Flies for everything

Loved Hugo’s game, thought he was super for us.

Someone has to tell Trainor to stop biting off more than he can chew by foot. Loved what he’s done so far but he’s just too ambitious by foot.

That was the worst game by Campbell - no tackling defensive pressure like Sonzie. How does Dow get a game. Brown was okay but he doesn’t tackle either. Green. Not sure. Has pace so he stays in. Bauer as sub is stupid. Ross. It might be time for a cold swim to wake him up. Most players were good. McAuliffe must come in.
