I went to the first Gather Round and it was awesome. The vibe around town was great. I can only imagine it has gotten bigger and better since.
It'll be hard to take it off Adelaide because I doubt Sydney or Brisbane could match what they've done but it needs to be shared with other non Vic states.

It would also be great to see what the Northern states dish up to show us how much they truly care about Aussie Rules (as opposed to AFL). A Gather around on the GC in June/July would be an awesome winter getaway for me!

I went to the first Gather Round and it was awesome. The vibe around town was great. I can only imagine it has gotten bigger and better since.
It'll be hard to take it off Adelaide because I doubt Sydney or Brisbane could match what they've done but it needs to be shared with other non Vic states.

SA has a unique advantage that it’s quite accessible from Vic coz lets face it 75% of the travelers will be ex Vic . Qld or WA would be a lead balloon , even tassie would be Luke warm for visitors

My point was that going off numbers alone, probably less than 50% attendance compared to round 1

Likely a total of 100k people all up going to several matches

If you want to measure success by filling up 10k stadiums, let’s hold all games at punt rd

Apart from the air, Bauer is afraid of the contest. Would honestly be better putting McIntosh or a small midfielder in and pressuring the hit out.

"Midfield structure is wrong but I can't see who we bring in to fix it". Are you joking? What about Pick #1, Pick #7, Pick #12 and McCauliffe? With 2 x top-6 picks this upcoming draft we've literally got our midfield sorted for a decade, so I don't know why people are so panicked about our midfield 5-games into a rebuild, particularly as Lalor looks like he'll be uber elite already.

Fix it for next week.

As I said we have drafted a future top end team. I'm happy enough that we can protect Lalor and Smillie with good older mids. Hopefully help them develop as well.

Where we stuffed up was 5 years ago when we didn't get those players to fill in our midfield. But that is past and we look towards a bright future.

5 years ago on a wing Mcintosh would be way better than Sonsie. On the wing now he may still be better than Sonsie. However playing as a midfield now Mcintosh is a liability. He either turns the ball over or kicks the ball to a contest. Everyone he has tagged this year has got 30+ possessions. Saying that Sonsie is a better midfielder than Mcintosh given Mcintosh’s form this year is hardly high praise but it is time to face reality.

Would much prefer to see Bauer played on the wing to provide a target when we are trying to escape the back 50. Then give him the freedom to roam forward and compete without a big defender pushing him out of the contest.
