Great to see Rioli played further up the ground, and look at the results. One of his best games in the yellow and black.

Unfortunately his full game came at the expense of Lalor. I’d put a line through him for the year now no matter what. Get him right for next year, send him to Dubai, send him to Qatar. Send him somewhere to get that hamstring right.

Why we didn’t play our best key defender on their best key forward will keep me up tonight. Cameron an absolute superstar though, and he’s had 2 handballs when directly opposed to Miller.

Miller got some of the best foot skills for a key defender in the comp.

Trainor needs a spell. Looks tired, and I don’t think his kicking is as good as what people think it is.

Looking forward to the VFL tomorrow, a team capable of hitting targets, and moving the footy quickly.

Agree with everything you have said. Only thing I will raise is that Broad has done the hob on Cameron before, but perhaps in a different set up.

So many disappointments in this game:

• No forward presence, i'm inclined to say our forward line is worse than our midfield. No movement in the forward line, no crumbing after a contest. What the hell are they doing in training? What is Newman doing with this group to make them better?
• Injury to Lalor, put him away for the season and get a full pre-season in him for 2026
• Defensive transition was poor, the Cats just ran riot most of the time
• Jonty's goalkicking is very poor. If this is our long-term key forward... surely we can invest some money into hiring a goalkicking coach for him and even the whole team.
• Sonsie, enough said.

Only positive was Rioli having a great game. Looked like he was the only one who was trying to find targets inside 50 and showing any sort of flair with ball in hand.

Heaps of positives tonight starting with our ball movement.
Always looked inboard first and backed our ourselves if it was on

Some very pleasing individual performances too

• Huge break out game from MRJ, best game for the club by a mile
• Same for Mansell, exceptional game
• Tom brown got more of the ball, was more proactive and daring
• Banks crushing, so reliable now
• Campbell more of the ball since he’s hitting the middle a bit
• Ross and Prestia great couple weeks in a row
