if mrj backs up his midfield form and has 24 touches be at least his average? then we can have the conversation of bringing him into the side

Ultimately you have to be happy with the effort. I thought we had looked tired recently and expected to get spanked. Four points would of been good but ultimately not important long term.

Pros

Taranto/Hopper/Prestia

Banks - short to never return. Love this bloke at half back. Had a poor last quarter the only criticism.

Young Blokes - most look to have something.


Cons

Ross - Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. For everything Sonsie cops this guy gets away with it. Sooner he is reserves the better.

Sonie - Thought we was good to HT but the soccers weren't great. Ultimately he won't make it with the quality we will be binning in.

Senior mids carried us there in the first half. Don't want to see Prestia, Taranto/Hopper for too long in the middle as doesn't help long term.

Pretty common stuff for young players

They still have it in their mind that they are the main character and want to impress coaches by being the one kicking the goals

One of the benefits of experience is learning that setting up a team mate in a more advantage position is worth more than kicking the goal themselves

I don’t see why Ross is a lock to play every week. He kills our momentum too much. At least you can say about Sonsie that he hasn’t played AFL consistently this year, but I think I’m done with Ross.

One of the rare cases where I wish one of our players got less of the ball.

Ross is leading our team with score involvements with 57. That’s why he plays every week.

It's hilarious, we lost because of 2 Sonsie missed soccer kicks and a Mcintosh missed running goal.

Sonsie did well 17 disposals and 1 goal. Silly kick at the end but Nanks kick from the ruck contest was worse as they scored a goal from that.

On Macca as dermie would say take your moment. Macca didnt. He isnt the reason why we lost but **** that wouldve put us 28 up again.

Another game where we look at the opponent at the end of the game thinking they are not going anywhere. GWS are not top 8 material after that game.

We simply shot ourselves in the foot with poor conversion in front of goal. Thats the only reason we lost. 5-6 U14 standard shots at goal and some kicks into the forward line that were 1cm too long or wide. The pieces are falling into place and I think it will click before season's end with a couple of decent wins.

The great thing for me is that it was super easy to pick 5 good players today, and 3-4 could be added. Get more games into Smith, Gray, Sims, Mcauliffe, Faull & Trainor - and they will be our next Brown, Banks and Green. You can see the progression building and the old heads that stood up today almost caused the upset.

Kudos to the Umps for once - they didn't slaughter us with BS "missed" frees - it was one of the mega rare Tiger's game that we can't blame on the umps - other than Lynch being infringed constantly.

We need to fix our goal kicking the same way we fixed the clearances this week. Only ourselves to blame for this game.

This is where we are as a team - still developing and we were not supposed to win a game this year. Kick straight and this was a 6 goal win. I wanted the win like everyone else - but coming into the game - we were not supposed to be within 6 goals of GWS. They have more problems that we do...

Campbell Gray has played 3 games FFS. He LED our team in intercepts with 7. Gray needs to be persevered with as he’s part of the future. He’s showing great signs and will be critical if Gibcus doesn’t recover.

And can all the Miller haters please provide some credit? Kept the best KPF in the game goalless! Please remember this when you smash him in future weeks.

The loss hurts now, but in a weak draft it won’t hurt too much in November when we get pick-3 instead of pick-6. The loss instead of a win means nothing in the grand scheme of things except a better draft pick.

Rubbish. A player with a winning attitude picks the ball up. The only time you soccer it is when it's pissing with rain or it's to your own or a team mates clear advantage, not just hoping it works out, especially in the backline.
Look, he played a fairly decent game until the last quarter. However those two soccer kicks should not be ignored, they were horrendous play.
