Enough of having our senior players be untouchable.

Especially the midfield because 84 contested possessions is not good enough. West Coast were getting slammed for 77 in a match a couple of weeks ago, and we weren’t far off.

McAuliffe has to come in because we need to change our stale midfield up.

Our senior players are in a spot where they can do whatever they want and remain untouched. Nankervis was meh, Taranto wasn’t great (ignore the stat sheet because most of his disposals weren’t impactful), Short was woeful etc. McIntosh started well and then went missing. Lynch had an awful day.

I’m not asking Yze to drop all of them at once. At least drop 1. Seriously, make a hard call for once. Our culture is starting to get bad now because our senior leaders are allowed to play however they want because their spots aren’t up for grabs because our “youth aren’t ready”.

Trainor though was great today. Settling well!

Short's turnovers are killing us and he is still horrible in 1 on 1 contests.

Rioli now can’t even make the U 11b team. Try U 10 c. Midfield guys all way to slow and can’t get clear and deliver poorly. Hard to know where the improvement is going to come but playing the old guys and losing by 60 plus goes nowhere. Try McA and we need another ruck badly. ? But Where from. Short continues to drive me crazy. We kicked long bombs all day to no avail. Coaching issue??? Etc etc

Just ignoring the scoreboard - as we should be doing for most matches this year.
Backline reasonably good as usual.
Thought Tom Brown in the first half was the best I've seen him play. Hope it's a new minimum standard for him.
Trainor also only going to get better. Very happy with him so far.
Juddy Clark and Kaleb Smith also will be building their cases for selection back there.
Banks & Ralphsmith looking reaosnably good early - again, want them to build on it.
Dow, definitely OK in the midfield. Not noticing Ross doing too much.
McAuliffe about ready for a run.

Forward line the main issue, along with the midfield generally behind our opponents.
Lynch just looks so slow. Also looking frustrated and unsure if he's setting a great example up there.
Faull had a few nice moments which is best we can expect at present.
Rioli, running out of time to show something other than defensive pressure.

I think we looked better with the three talls up forward. Faull competes hard, but he's a first year kid getting double teamed by the likes of Barrass, Battle, Sicily, Weddle and Jiath.

Far too many lads who have been in the system for years and are just not good enough.

We had the worst list under 25 last year no question.

Guys like HRS, Mansell, Miller, Banks, Tresize, Ross, etc, are 18-22 level players in a premiership squad. And our whole team is full of them. It's not their fault. It's just where we are at.

Lynch was brutal today. Needs to have a good look at himself. Yes it's brutally hard playing as the only option in that forward line but he's still getting paid a top 3 wage and needs to act like it

Trainor has 250+ games in him barring injury.

Very impressive. Lot has been said about Lalor (and deservedly so) but he's going to be the best of the bunch IMO.
