Did anyone see Yze's post game presser

'The coaching team at 3Q time raised implementing the sub I vetoed it was my call

Couldn't be bothered using the sub.

The upside we have a fresh player available for the reserves game'.

What a train wreck presser

you would expect such a press performance from Joe Biden without his meds.

One more year to go.............

.
Forget it, dude, most on here are in dreamland with Yze.

Who the fek knows what our next premiership side looks like? Where 3-5 years away from even challenging for the finals. To just throw away blokes that are performing now.. when we are winning games no one thought we would at the start of thw year is just stupid.

Young, especially has shown signs of being a solid defender. Has held his own since coming back into the side considering the ball is consistently coming inside D50. You cant call him a plodder. Ridiculously short sighted.

Sonsie has already improved out of sight since being given a stable starting gig. Who knows how he will develop.

In 2016 you would have called most of our bottom 6-8 plodders, bloody Shane Edwards was a turnover merchant for his first 2-3 years... and yet look at 2017.
Who knows anything, we might be in another 37-year drought, just people speculating, just like you. Who is wrong and who is right, we will have to wait.

Could have won that game in any number of ways. Ross running forward late in the game gives it to Taranto, who has never laced out a pass since arriving at Richmond, instead of Campbell running free 20m on and running inside 50, and off course Taranto kicks to a contest.

Campbell's snap over his shoulder from 20m out, never misses. We have a man standing on the goal line on his own but Campbell kicks a scrubber point.

I have said this before but Yze may not be a great coach but we will know in a year or two. We can change him. If Blair &co has stuffed up we won’t know for another 5 years and if they got it wrong we will be St Kilda. That’s a bigger issue
It is unlikely that Blair and the late Toce (RIP), have missed the mark with what looks like a great haul of first year drafts we have got in at Tigerland.

Not all will make it to our expectations but what we have seen has been very promising albeit many have been hobbled with injuries preseason and during the season.

What is the danger is a coach can leave a lasting imprint on young players good or bad.

We are rising on the fact that we have brought in talented youth, we have not seen a pick that is a bust and these
first rounders are just naturally going to improve. We will naturally rise with that tide.

It is the coach that is the make or break, how we will structure up and how we develop these new players going forward.

Player mismanagement is always a big red flag concerning coaches.

Couldn't watch the game this weekend. saw the result and though 'should have won, but it means we get pick 2 & 3.' So all OK

just want us to smack North now. That'd make this year a success.

Not only it will show Richmond is more advanced in their rebuild, it will show the fallacy of their assumptions they were going to make a massive improvement.

We didn't, but North sure did stuff up on the flying viking, as they were into him bigtime.

Faull and Armstrong will forge our forward line for the next decade. Balta, I reckon will play more forward and second ruck to give Nank a chop out.

We have more than enough options with Miller, Young, Gibcus and Gray as tall backs.
We have too many options for KPD's. Sounds weird but I think we should trade Young. It's not his ability, I actually think he is playing really well. Right now, he could be best 22 in a number of sides that are desperate for defenders. For that reason, he would have good trade value. and he is 27 He will be 30+ by the time we are contending. Let him go and make some money and we will get a decent pick.

We need at least 6-7 a graders to win a flag I reckon and maybe 8-10 b graders. We might have that but we won’t know until 2028-2030

9) Richmond is closer to success than expected

Coming into the season there was a genuine concern that the Tigers might only land one or two wins given their young and inexperienced list. It seemed like a tough road ahead for second-year coach Adem Yze, but the club is well ahead of expectations at this point of the year. Yes, there are still some significant inconsistencies week to week, and quarter to quarter, but the ability to turn momentum, and take assets away from the opposition is already in the young Tigers' kit bag. With two games remaining for the season after Saturday's loss to St Kilda, five wins under their belt, and plenty of experience pumped into a host of young players, Richmond has achieved everything it needed to and more in 2025 to propel back up the ladder in the coming seasons. - Gemma Bastiani

What she look like ?
Is she a goer

We tanked the St Kilda game

have rewatched it last night and if seriously trying to win we would have sent a player to NWM to stop his run off half back
Richmond genuinely didnt care about the win and was just trying different things during the game.

Yze just had to tell MRj to be up his clacker and tackle him everythime he touched the ball and NWM wouldnt have had the space to run and carry the ball like he was going for a sunday stroll and delivering with no pressure on him.

Really.

Bottom 3 club two years in a row is bad at getting uncontested possessions?

😮
Yes really, it may be hard to believe, but some people may be concerned that a side can be slapped in both uncontested possies and tackles count consistently. Shock horror.

I Wouldn’t give it much credence if it was generally a low and even tackle count but it’s not, hence I am concerned at the pattern I am seeing

I'm no.tactical expert but if coaches like Ross Lyon wanna throw extra players behind the ball and then play keepings off, then that feeds high uncontested possession for oppo and low tackle count for us. Yze is teaching a different style and sticking to it irrespective of the negative tactics of other coaches. This is a positive. There's bigger picture issues than the odd late season win in a dead rubber game 1st year of a rebuild.

Not in the least bit concerned about results at this stage, it’s about style and pattern of play. We still have enough experience in the side to be able to execute ourselves. Saints were younger than us on Saturday, it’s not like it was us vs a good experienced side

Melbourne, North tanked too then cause NWM torched both those teams as well. He glides across the field, not an easy player to simply tag out of the game. The best players are hard to tag or may get tagged once or twice but not consistently.

LOL why are you so defensive because i showed some eye-raising stats - with next to no commentary on them? It's not a stat you usually see - A team winning by 5 points but also having 10/10 of the top fantasy point players on the field!!

Todays game was dogshit. We are just bringing other teams down to our level, even crap teams like St Kilda. At some point we actually need to try and play some real footy, even if it means we lose by 40 points. Its round 22 ffs, at what point do we want to see even just a lil bit "more" ambition than .....this???

Seriously a lot of the supporters need to harden the **** up and actually be critical. This is some bloody soft banter considering the incredibly poor quality of footy. Nasiah looked like peak Dangerfield playing in the VFL 2nds out there
Yes, it was a crap game, no argument from me. And I'd also like to see us take more risks with ball in hand. However, having the top-10 on the field in fantasy points and winning by only 5-points is a far bigger problem than not having anyone in the top-10 and losing by 5-points. The first year after a clean out and 17 on the injury list and we almost won.

We will end up with 2 x top-5 picks and the Saints pick-14 thanks to their annual late season surge which ultimately means zip except a far inferior draft pick. Good times.

They devoted a bit to it on The Crack. NWM doing as he pleased, no substitution, and lousy rotations, had them saying we weren’t tanking, but were focused on other priorities. I guess it doesn’t change much, but pretty slack if true.

yeah and we still played "scared footy" against them. You are saying it yourself - they are woeful and we still went out there with a strategy like we were planning of rope a dope a top 4 team. I thought by round 22 we would have started to see a bit more/better than this
A Ross Lyon coached team that is in 'win at all costs' mode is the best in the business at defensive structures and stifling ball movement. If you went into a Saints game where they are in this mode in search of a win, and expected a free flowing great game of footy, then you haven't been watching Ross Lyon coached teams for the last 15-years.

After the Saints tried to play a 'finals style' earlier in the season and coughed up 3 x 100-point scores in a row from rounds 5-7, Ross the Boss knew the wolves were at his door and being competitive was important, so he went back into 'Ross the Boss' defensive crap mode. It enables them to beat poor teams (as they did beating Demons, North and us), but almost never beat a decent team.

When we've played this year against teams who don't implement chip, chip, chip style that involves defending with ball in hand, that's when we've played football with more attacking flair - Carlton R1, Gold Coast, GWS, Lions, Eagles....

But when playing teams that chip, chip, this enables them to set-up defensively behind the ball, meaning it's nigh on impossible to implement a free flowing game when creating a turnover as there's very few 'holes' due to the oppo not being caught out of position. We saw this in the snoozefest against Essendon, the game on the weekend etc.....

On the weekend after a really bad first quarter we squeezed up a bit more and tried to deny uncontested marks, but again, with 17 on the injury list and a lot of inexperienced players, we can't expect our team to have all the answers to a Ross Lyon masterclass in a defensive web. When really good teams who usually score freely have trouble with it, why wouldn't we?
