He got his suspension .. that was approved by the AFL … and he served it. He paid his victim a small fortune. He will also cop his right whack from the court. Let’s just keep perspective … he gave a bloke who was probably mouthing off at his party all night an almighty shove, and laid into him with a few drunken punches that didn’t cause anything beyond some minor abrasions.

Anyone would think he drove on the wrong side of the road and almost killed someone, causing serious physical and mental trauma to the victim.

Oh hang on … that was Tom Atkins who got zero penalty and didn’t miss a practise match. FMD.
or Micheal Hurley who bashed a taxi driver which cost him $10,000, escaped any conviction and was suspended for 3 weeks (including preseason). The one difference is Essendon has managed to sully their own reputation so many ways since, it's amazing that Barrett listens to a word they have said.

After 6 rounds and after it being widely acknowledged we are in year 1 of one of , if the bot biggest ever rebuild . We have had the same amount of wins as 3 of last years top 8 ( finalists) including one of the grand finalists .
😂 😂
Part of the reason we're doing better than expected is, as should be becoming clear, we're not in year 1.

Campbell, Brown, Banks, Trezise, Green, MoJu, all starting to belong or even shine at the level. MoJu the oldest at 22. Even Ralphsmith and Dow are only 23-24. Our 2023 draftee 20-year-olds McAuliffe and Fawcett looking highly promising.

Yeah, we cleared out and brought in a lot last draft. But we didn't scorch the earth. What we did was maybe clear space for some undergrowth that was already there to catch more light, and flourish.

Young is nowhere near this team when fit either… still need room for gibcus.

Can’t see young or blight on the list in 2 years.

Bit harsh on Young who played 28 games in his first year and a half of AFL. If Gibcus comes back from injury he may struggle to get games simply because we’ll be spoiled for choice. He still could be a very handy back-up, especially if we end up playing Balta, Miller, Gibcus and Trainor in the same team when Broad retires.

Barrett listens to to the words that put $ in his account. Some sort of media Kei$ha. He'd dance around in lingerie for Hutchy's sweet penny. Man spreads for the CFL coin.

That was a coaching error. Nank had just had a 7-minute rest at 3/4 time. GC’s only chance of a miracle win was a couple of quick goals to start the quarter… they got 3! Nank should’ve played the first 10-mins, then depending on the state of the game had a big rest after that. But we put Ryan in against a fresh Witts… dumb dumb coaching move that gave GC a sniff.

We got away with it and that will do more for his development than sitting on the bench in the last.

Comprehensively beaten and conceded 2 goals in the first minute but then competed well after that. Didn't drop his head and will learn a tremendous amount for the experience.

Like it or not he's on the list for a few more years with the contract he has so we need to make it work and get the best out of him.

SEN commentary was exemplary. They were well and truly on the Tiggy train.
SEN were suprisingly very good.
The Cat bloke that did the after match comments was very positive about our team.
So refreshing to hear our club get a bit of love.

Sucked in Bickley you salty power rangers arse face… zero wins for the year pffft. Now we have the media hate train firing up again over Balta, which, I think will galvanize us a playing group. Tigers do their best work when we are getting maximum media saltiness so bring it on 😍

Young ~ limited footballer. Lucked out to be at RFC during Meehan. Out of contract 2025 so I feel he gets delisted Gray too. Prestia to retire. Colina, OHB too.

Selection has to be on merit not just simply because Ryan is a giraffe. This is a 24 year old player that is in his 5th year of AFL football.

0 marks, 4 disposals and nearly cost us the game with his lack of ability in the ruck.

We could ruck Steely Green for all I care but this Ryan bloke doesn’t belong anywhere near an AFL team.
It was based on merit. Ryan had earned a call upon his VFL form.
The question becomes do you drop him based on his performance and was there a VFL petcomace from another player to force him out?
Up until the start of the last I felt he had been ok in his role. I would like to see more from him, but this was his first AFL match of the year. He's got a three year contract, like it or not, so I don't see the point in dropping him after one game.
I don't think we really expected to win last night and I think he was also brought in with us having 2 short breaks to provide that relief to Nank in the ruck and as a forward.
Blight might have better attributes, nut he hasn't trained in those roles.
Ryan will play against Melbourne, we can make more of an informed decision after that.

Yeah he’s been super consistent this year and really learning to back himself in and showcase his field kicking that is quite as asset

Obviously not the finished product but feel like he’s reached that tipping point where we are going to see a big leap in output over the next 12 months

Likewise for Brown

Even Dow for all his knocks has been super consistent this year it’s pleasing to see
Dow much better this year, still a long way to go to be long term player.
I think people forget that last year he had to be at least a number 2 midfielder for us at time last year, not just a 3rd rotation, big difference with Hopper and Taranto playing all our games as out 1st and 2nd mids this year.
