He certainly did a good job. Matt Rowell 29 disposal 7 clearances, 6 inside 50's and 7 score involvements and 79.3% disposal efficiency. Totally blanketed him. The reason Rowell got so few possessions in the third quarter was because we had the ball. In the last quarter when we needed McIntosh, he did FA.
You just proved my point for me. He racked up all those stats specifically when McIntosh wasn't stationed on him at stoppages so yes he did do a good job and played a role in us building a match winning lead.

McIntosh had 17 disposals, 6 were contested and he had 2 tackles Sonsie in the vfl had 33 disposals, 9 were contested and he had 3 tackles. I doubt that the physicality in the vfl is much less than the afl. The big difference is that Sonsie is mainly an outside player which is exactly what we need, and he can get the ball a lot when he is played in the midfield. Oh, and the other difference is that McIntosh is a dinosaur.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

I wonder if the Ryan call makes more sense in terms of, plantar issues get worse once they cool down. So they played him for 10 minutes, knowing, once he's off the ground, getting him moving better is a no go so give Nank 15 without rest.

This ….TT taking care of Harry in the circle as the team sang the song…the boys got around Harry

Brings a tear to the eye

Hope the young bloke gets better

Sorry but according to the media we can't respect the actions of the club in supporting this kid as Balta got a 6-week suspension and not 8-weeks, so any social or charity cause from Richmond is null and void for the foreseeable future.

So the coaches put Macintosh on Rowell for one quarter and when it worked they stopped doing it. Either they are very poor coaches or you misread the game.

From what I saw McIntosh wasn't doing a tagging role on any particular player. Was just playing a defensive role structurally where he always positioned himself on the defensive side of the stoppage.

Part of the reason we're doing better than expected is, as should be becoming clear, we're not in year 1.

Campbell, Brown, Banks, Trezise, Green, MoJu, all starting to belong or even shine at the level. MoJu the oldest at 22. Even Ralphsmith and Dow are only 23-24. Our 2023 draftee 20-year-olds McAuliffe and Fawcett looking highly promising.

Yeah, we cleared out and brought in a lot last draft. But we didn't scorch the earth. What we did was maybe clear space for some undergrowth that was already there to catch more light, and flourish.
Plus we’re having a better run with injury , from r3 last year we had 16 players unavailable, no team can weather that shit storm

He had fewer possessions, clearances, score involvements and inside 50s in the second half despite attending almost triple the amount of centre bounces.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to when saying it didn’t impact the game.

Most likely how it would play out on Footy Confidential.

Scoops: This was a nice gesture from Richmond with the young fan and they have form in allowing the son of Toce hit the button for the number one pick so it is a good thing to see.
Barrett: Yeah Sam, it is nice but since they allowed Balta to play, clearly, that kid has to die because we can't take anything they say seriously any more. Does he even have an illness? I am sceptical.
Lloyd: Damo.....are you saying you don't believe Harry is sick?
Barrett: Llyodo, no I am not, but I am not listening to anything that comes from the Richmond Football Club

I love Kmacs endeavour attitude but would really like to see both Sonsie and McAulliffee a good 4-6 week run in the middle
KMac is not going to be there in 2-3 years time when we are making finals and hopefully flags again but the other two may so we need to see where they are at
No good picking Sonsie and not playing him in the middle I would also prefer these two ahead of Dow who I think we have seen enough of he will only ever be an average player at best he tries hard but his disposal skills are very poor

We need "average" players as well as our stars to play.

KMac does all the team things, is a leader and takes pressure off the young kids having to develop too quickly. They're not going to be ready to play 23 games and risks injury / loss of confidence.

On Dow, he's holding his place in the team and even if he's only likely to be a player who's in our 15-20 depth category when we do challenge again, we should be holding onto him until such time as he's forced out. We have enough players to move on at seasons end without getting rid of an early 2s kid who'll have about 50 games of experience. Thats the type that will fill the holes left by our departing older plahers

Yep, Dow is playing because Prestia isn't.

And given that Dion is no certainty to return at all, let alone get back to something resembling his best, Dow could become a mainstay until one of the younger blokes potentially pushes him out.

Scoop would not say any such thing.
