You only seem him play against Tigers lets be honest. If you watched him every week you would see he's a hell of a lot better than Tom Mitchell. He isn't in Dusty's league but who is? But he is a lot better player than you think, some of his work in the contest with his hands is top class.

You can actually recognise a decent player from another team - no one will think less of you. For example Shai Bolton is going to be a superstar.

Head to head Neale is having a better year and is ahead in most of the important categories such as score involvement. Dusty does have more clangers and turn overs though :moustache:

you remind me of your coach after last years QF when he read out the stat sheet thinking because they had better stats they deserved to win

richmond aren't a stat heavy side

Meatball a lock 🍝

Mentioned on ch7 news tonight that he was to play in a scratch match this weekend but that’s been cancelled. Bit of a shame that he couldn’t at least get that in before the final to blow out the cobwebs.

Dimma did say in his presser last week that if Dion says he’s ready to go he plays

Brisbane will know that they will have to face us twice in the finals series if they make the GF and deep down through all that scar tissue they know they have no chance against our side.

Cameron will get hit early and will be intently listening for Grimes and Vlastuin's footsteps for the rest of the night
Robinson will do a few brave acts but won't have many mates
Neale will not be tagged gather 38 possessions with a potential of three of those actually being damaging

And as the Brisbane forward line saunters back into position at the opening bounce they will be facing Astbury, Grimes, Vlastuin, Houli, Baker and a rogues gallery rotating through our D50

they will not even have to look into the centre to see Cotch Dusty Prestia Bolton and the Tank to know they are out of their league.

eat em alive tigers

.
The Rogues Gallery - what a great name for our Defence

I’ll write one NaturalDisaster. Here is a draft I have been working on.

2020 Qualifying Final - Brisbane v Richmond THIS IS A GRUDGE MATCH!

Richmond still carries deep mental scars from the 1944 Grand Final. That loss to Fitzroy by 15 points has haunted the club for 76 years and thrown a pall over every one of their subsequent achievements. These scars were made fresh in 1970 when Fitzroy humbled Richmond at the MCG in front of HRH Queen Elizabeth II and her family. Since then, there was a concerted effort on the part of Richmond to destroy Fitzroy Football Club and now the Brisbane Lions. Their evil plan first began to bear fruit at the end of the 1981 Season, when they stole Noel Mugavin from Fitzroy in an attempt to weaken our club, but they failed because while Noel Mugavin had great hair and was comedic in his approach to ball handling, he wasn't one of our elite players. This theft of players continued, however, into the 1990's when Richmond stole Paul Broderick, Michael Gale, Jamie Elliott and Matthew Dundas at the end of the 1993 season. In a further attempt to bring down our club, they gave us Jeff Hogg, who committed numerous acts of sabotage in our forward line. The loss of Alastair Lynch at the end of 1993 and Paul Roos for the 1995 season effectively broke the hearts of Fitzroy supporters, but at Richmond they were filled with glee. After Richmond defeated Fitzroy in 1996 in their last ever game at the MCG by 151 points there was a quiet celebration at Punt Road, as a shadowy group of club officials and bag men celebrated the demise of Fitzroy in a "Mission Accomplished" moment.

Then this happened:

Richmond thought that they had killed Fitzroy, but they had only made us stronger because we had merged our traditions and powers with those of the Brisbane Bears and formed a new club that would dominate the AFL from 2001 - 2004, bringing home 3 Premierships, while Richmond crashed out of finals contention, finishing 14th, 13th and winning the wooden spoon in 2004. THE MENTAL SCARS WERE BACK!

Richmond, driven by a desire for revenge and an army of supporters who only have marginally more teeth per head than the average figures at Collingwood and Port Adelaide, have redoubled their efforts to destroy the Lions and since 2009 they have had us on the ropes. This is all about to change, however, in the 2020 Qualifying Final, when Brisbane plays Richmond in a game that will be remembered in the same way that Mohammed Ali's victory over George Foreman was at Kinshasa in 1974. THIS FINAL WILL BE OUR VERY OWN "RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE" AS THE LIONS DEFEAT THE TIGERS AND START OUR PREMIERSHIP DRIVE THAT WILL ANNOUNCE TO THE WORLD THAT IN 2020, "WE ARE THE GREATEST!"

I could quote a whole bunch of stats at this point, but what’s the use? To speak plainly, Richmond are very good at getting the ball and they use it well, particularly when transitioning out of defence. Brisbane will be able to counter this though because we are such an amazing tackling side and the enemy to clean disposal is intense pressure and Brisbane will bring that. Lester, Starcevich, Lyons, Neale, McInerney, Berry, Robinson, McCarthy, Zorko, Bailey, Ah Chee, Rayner, Gardiner and Cameron are all TACKLING MACHINES and Richmond will buckle under the pressure. This willingness to tackle and pressure is our trump card inside 50 and our strength in this area is Richmond's greatest weakness

Then we have our midfield, which is ELITE. Just say the names out loud. “BROWNLOW” NEALE, LYONS, ZORKO, BERRY! We are going to beat Richmond because we are going to get first hands on the ball out of the middle and we are going to HIT THE SCOREBOARD! I'm expecting Cameron to have a massive game, but look out for Cam Rayner, because he is "locked and loaded.” Eric Hipwood is BACK IN TOWN and our midfield has started to contribute goals again. We are looking potent! In defence, we have Richmond covered, Andrews is ALL AUSTRALIAN and Gardiner and Brichall are working well. Starcevich and Lester have looked fit and hungry all season and they are the FIRE AND ICE of our defensive unit. THEN THERE IS DANIEL RICH A PLAYER WHO JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER! On the wings we have Robinson, who is the spiritual leader, the heart and soul of our club and McCluggage and or Bailey and or Ah Chee. They will rip Richmond to shreds.

Finally, Martin and McInerney are set to ravage a depleted Richmond ruck division. Oscar will also go forward and no doubt kick a bag.

Chris Fagan says that SQUADS WIN PREMIERSHIPS and I think he is right. This game will be a test, but we have the players to win it.

Brisbane are so confident of victory that they will select Daniel McStay for comedy value and effectively go in a man down.

The Prediction

To be fair, J Brown said RFC are favs.
Different opinions.
It's the nature of the media to say different things, otherwise everyone is in lockstep.
Why would people read content it if it is all the same?
Don't mind if the media talks up other teams anyway.
A low key unassuming profile is always best.
The only thing which could jeopardise our chances is to become complacent, like when they mucked around in 2018.
Browny will change his tip when he realises Garth isn't playing...

Why on earth was the scratch match (“scrimmage match” 😒) cancelled wtf?
There’s no way he can play with no preparation in a final.
Everyone laughing and Tayla Harris Andrews playing but meatball just as likely to cop an injury or be completely off.
Meatball actually takes a bit of time to warm into seasons. He pretty much kicks the ball along the ground the first few weeks lol worm burners
