Love the faith they have immediately shown in Ross.
Starting in all but 1 centre bounce throughout the game.

Jon Ralph said yesterday during the Essendon v Collingwood coverage that scans for Riewoldt were booked for today, but the club’s initial prognosis was he would probably require surgery to get on top of it now rather than managing it for the rest of the year.

He said ~10 weeks was the initial estimate.

Looking at those midfield stats, we don't have as many guys running through the middle bounces as I would have guessed.

I think we need to keep Shane Edwards involved in the game as much as possible or risk losing our best play maker. Yes, he can still do it off the half back line but how much exactly?

The Lynch - Riewoldt combo will work fine if they can stay on the park. One thing different this year to last is the amount of times backmen are not marking the ball in our forward line. Apart from Gawn who sat in the hole (which made it impossible for Melb. to exit defence), very few backs have pack marked in our forward half due to Jack and Lynch both competing for the ball. Our small forwards are loving it.

What to do without Jack? Caddy has been very good when he goes on ball. He never fumbles and always makes good decisions, so you don't want to plonk him deep where he plays well, as he is playing quite well when on ball. Besides Lynch is deep. Martin resting forward a bit the same.

We need to find another CHF. Moore is a chance but really I doubt he is good enough. After 4 years an AFL forward would be kicking bags. Chol is a tease but very inconsistent. CCJ will be a good forward ruck, but can he play CHF. We will lose a lot at ground level as well. I'd love to see them back Miller in. Was very good at CHF for a bit last week in the VFL. Adding another teenager would be bold and it has not done us any harm so far this season. He and Balta can both play at either end and ruck, so you would not be losing much.

The only other thing that might be interesting is to tell Bolton he is playing tall and go for his grabs. That might be worth the entrance fee to see.

Oh well back to the one tall one medium and multiple smalls we go until Jack gets back. Flag and top of the ladder under this system.
